Welcoming a new born baby during the holidays is a joyful time. But for families whose babies are in the neonatal intensive care unit, they are spending their time in the hospital. But one woman has created a unique way to bring comfort to those families in a time of need.Bob Fries and his wife had twins that came 3 months early. "We expected my wife to still be pregnant throughout the holidays," Bob says. The NICU has become their new home away from home."There are no words for the experience," Bob says. "You pretty much put your life on hold."One mother who knows this experience all too well is Elizabeth Tolin. She says you have a picture perfect idea of what having a baby is like, but it’s not always that way.Five years ago, Tolin's son Toby was born early and placed in the NICU. "Suddenly that idea is stripped away and it’s a terrifying experience you don't know how to navigate," Tolin says. She wanted other NICU parents know they are not alone so she created 988

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — Three women have been arrested after they led police on a pursuit through Pasco County and it all started after someone reported seeing the women naked at a Pasco County rest area off of I-75 on Wednesday. On Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at approximately 11:15 a.m., an FHP trooper was dispatched to the suspicious persons call at the northbound I-75 rest area just south of State Road 54. When the trooper arrived on scene, she found three black females completely naked. The women told the trooper they had showered and were "air drying."Troopers say the girls told them they had been at a relatives house in Lutz and got into an arugment. They had no where else to shower, so they bought soap and water and bathed themselves on the grass outside the rest stop building. The girls got dressed before speaking to troopers. As the trooper was attempting to gather their information, the three women ran and got into a white 2009 Nissan Sentra and traveled southbound into the northbound rest area entrance before turning back around and heading northbound before traveling north on I-75 toward State Road 52. The trooper initiated a pursuit, but the pursuit was canceled due to the pursuit not fitting FHP criteria, according to FHP. RECOMMENDED: 1277

When you think of a firefighter, the words “fearless,” “heroic” and “selfless” come to mind. Running into burning buildings is part of the job description. But what happens when those expected to save need saving themselves? “I love the idea of being there for people when we're a last resort. People call 911 when they don't know where else to turn,” says firefighter Ian McQueen.Setting fear aside like so many firefighters, McQueen says being focused in the face of danger for the sake of others is just part of the job. But for hundreds of first responders, under the surface it’s taking a toll. “There's that duck analogy. If you look just real calm floating on the surface, but under water your feet are just kicking and you're moving fast and a lot of stuff’s happening,” McQueen says. What’s happening is that firefighters are taking their own lives at an alarming rate.2019 was the sixth year in a row that 927

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House of Representatives approved a resolution that appointed seven House Democrats as impeachment managers and sent articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate. The vote came hours after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi named U.S. Representatives Adam Schiff (D-California), Jerry Nadler (D-New York), Zoe Lofgren (D-California), Hakeem Jeffries (D-New York), Val Demings (D-Florida), Jason Crow (D-Colorado) and Sylvia Garcia (D-Texas as impeachment managers in the Senate trial that will decide President Donald Trump's fate. The articles are expected to be delivered to the Senate at 5 p.m.Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) is expected to move ahead quickly with an impeachment trial. McConnell told reporters Tuesday that he fully expects the trial to be underway by next Tuesday.McConnell has said he will hold a full trial instead of merely voting to dismiss the articles. However, he is expected to formally approve ground rules for the trial without Democrat support and without first approving a witness list. The House voted to impeach Trump on the two counts in December. Pelosi had previously said she would not send articles of impeachment over to the Senate until she was assured that a fair trial would be conducted.House Democrats allege that Trump abused his power by withholding taxpayer funds earmarked for defense in Ukraine in exchange for Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky announcing an investigation into potential corruption regarding Joe Biden's son, who sat on the board for a Ukranian energy company. Hunter Biden has not faced any corruption charges in Ukraine or the United States. House Democrats also allege Trump obstructed Congress by not participating in impeachment proceedings against him. 1799

WASHINGTON, D.C. – For only the third time in U.S history, an American president faces the specter of impeachment.Having taken an oath, U.S. senators will act as a jury in the impeachment trial. A half-dozen members of the House will act as prosecutors and President Donald Trump will have his own defense team against charges of obstruction of congress and abuse of power."We're achieving what no administration has ever achieved before and what do I get out of it? Tell me. I get impeached,” President Trump told those gathered for an agriculture convention in Texas this past weekend. While impeachment trials have basic rules set out in the 19th century, senators can vote to amend them. Georgetown law professor David Super said that happened during President Bill Clinton’s impeachment in the 1990s.“They set up a bunch of special rules, but they didn't amend the permanent rules,” Super said. “So, the rules that we have go way back.”Then, there is the role of Chief Justice John Roberts who, by law, presides over the trial. Super said the chief justice’s role is critical, as he will rule over questions about evidence – though, a majority of senators could vote to overrule him.“There are a majority of Republicans in the Senate. So, in theory they could overrule the chief justice's decisions,” Super said. “But the chief justice was appointed by a Republican president, confirmed by a Republican Senate. And I'm not sure that almost all of the Republicans in the Senate are prepared to overrule his rulings.”So how long could all of this last? Experts say to look at it in terms of weeks, not months.“I don't think that either side has an incentive to have it go very long,” Super said.It remains to be seen whether or not witnesses will be called during the impeachment trial. The issue is bitterly dividing Republicans and Democrats – with Democrats arguing they should be allowed to call witnesses. 1924
