SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The possibility of Topgolf coming to San Diego took another step forward Tuesday.During a Port of San Diego board meeting, staff were authorized to begin to negotiate and enter into an exclusive negotiating agreement with Topgolf, according to the Port. Once the Port enters into the agreement, staff can begin to refine their proposal for the land, allow Topgolf to conduct its own due diligence, and negotiate terms until the agreement expires on Dec. 31, 2020.According to documents, Port and Topgolf officials are eyeing East Harbor Island's "Elbow Parcel" area along North Harbor Drive as a potential location for a seven-acre site. The facility would face east, allowing golfers to tee off facing the downtown skyline.RELATED: Gaslamp Quarter thoroughfare may become a promenadeAn August economic analysis by London Moeder Advisors said a Topgolf location at the site could support about 500 permanent jobs and provide about million in economic impact once completed. The report goes on to say the project could help ignite future development of the area with more entertainment and hotel options."As an attractor, Topgolf is in that special category or destination activities which are likely to draw patrons to the Port, and who will utilize hotel rooms, restaurants and bars, visitor attractions and recreational boating throughout the Port lands," the analysis said. "While this report details the economic impact of Topgolf, it likely does not do justice to its overall impact as an enhancement to San Diego's front door."Topgolf's proposal includes a facility featuring a driving range, restaurant, bar, meeting space, event and stage area, outdoor patios, three levels of golf bays, and additional games and entertainment, according to the Port. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – The San Diego Padres are heading to the postseason, and while fans can’t attend games at Petco Park, the team is giving the Friar Faithful a chance to cheer them on at the ballpark while in their cars.The Padres Postseason Watch Party will take place during next week’s Wild Card round, with the drive-in event happening in Petco Park’s Lexus Premier Lot on K Street, off 14th Street.RVs and campers will not be allowed at the watch party.The games will be shown on three separate large LED video screens, and fans at the event will be able to choose from different restaurant partners -- depending on the game -- when it comes to the ballpark eats. This month, they take place Oct. 24 - 31. The two-story home and store addition was added in 1857 by Thomas Whaley. It was the first two-story brick edifice in San Diego and built using bricks made in Whaley's brickyard.The house operated as one of the first stores in the Old Town area and at one time was Whaley's home, a courtroom, a general store, and a theater simultaneously.While the store served the community in multiple ways during the 1800s, it seems its residents of one of the most haunted homes in America have stayed behind to watch over the grounds.During tours, museum guides will explore the stories of Whaley; his wife, Anna; their children, Violet and Tommie; and "Yankee" Jim Robinson — all of whom are believed to still be at the home in some form."Yankee Jim" was hanged on the grounds in 1852. Guests have reported heavy footsteps and windows being unlatched and opened — even Whaley himself. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego Police Department is investigating a stabbing in Encanto after a victim was found with stab wounds.Witnesses tell 10News a fight broke out between two males near the intersection of 65th Street and Wunderlin Avenue, across the street from Encanto Elementary School. Their ages are unknown. One male was stabbed at the scene, he was found near the park and recreation center where children were playing, according to witnesses. The second male fled before police arrived, police caught up to him and arrested him on Massachusetts Avenue.   615
