(KGTV) - Suspected drug smugglers were rescued by U.S. Coast Guard crews this month after their vessel erupted into flames before sinking.Crews from the Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations (AMO), the U.S. Navy ship USS Zephyr, and the Colombian Navy ship ARC "07 de Agosto" detected the high-speed vessel on April 7 in the eastern Pacific Ocean.As crews prepared to intercept the vessel, the suspected smugglers allegedly began abandoning their cargo and jumped from the boat as it caught fire.RELATED: Canadian who posted drug smuggling trip on Instagram sentenced to prisonCrews rescued four suspected smugglers and spent 90 minutes extinguishing the flames."There was no doubt in our minds what needed to be done to salvage the evidence needed for a successful prosecution even if it meant laying Zephyr alongside a burning hull, with the intense heat and acrid smoke hindering our 90-minute firefight," Lt. Cmdr. Grant Greenwell, the commanding officer of the Zephyr, said.After putting out the fire, crews say they recovered about 1,080 pounds of cocaine. Brad Sherman, (D-CA), said Thursday he will reintroduce articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, the LA Times reported.The articles of impeachment for high crimes and misdemeanors were cosponsored by fellow Democratic Rep. Al Green of Texas. Sherman originally filed articles of impeachment in July 2017 claiming the president had obstructed justice in the Russian investigation."There is no reason it shouldn’t be before the Congress," Sherman told the LA Times. She returned to San Diego May 21st and returned to work at UCSD Medical Center, just three days later. The transition has not been easy.“A part of me feels guilty leaving my team there. The first day back at UCSD Medical Center I felt lost and I cried.”Wilkinson’s firefighter husband and two young sons understood when she answered the call for help in New York City. She has served on medical missions all over the world but this mission was the most challenging. Her motto is that no patient dies alone.“I became attached to my patients and because their families couldn’t be there, I was there holding their hands when they died.”Wilkinson says her time in New York has made her a better person and a better nurse. 860

(KGTV) — The addition of a "notorious" galactic cantina will bring not only smugglers and bounty hunters to Disneyland in 2019, but also alcohol sales for the first time.Disneyland's "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge" will be home to Oga's Cantina, an "otherworldy" stop for music and exotic concoctions, park officials announced Thursday.Among the cantina's limited menu options will be wine, beer, and both non-alcoholic and alcoholic cocktails, according to Disney officials.
