Sexting among teens and younger children has increased over the past decade and poses a growing challenge for educators and parents, according to a new study.One in four young people said they'd received sexts, and one in seven reported sending them, according to the study, which was published Monday in the journal JAMA Pediatrics. According to the U.S. Justice Department, the former Bears receiver conspired with others to get millions of dollars in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans, which he then spent on luxury items.The DOJ said in a press release that Bellamy applied for an received a PPP loan of more than .24 million for his company, Drip Entertainment LLC. Bellamy then allegedly spent more than 4,000 in luxury goods from Dior, Gucci and retail jewelers “using proceeds of his PPP loan,” DOJ said in a press release.Bellamy is also accused of spending more than ,000 in PPP loan proceeds at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and withdrew more than 2,000, the DOJ alleges.Bellamy is a native of St. Petersburg, Florida and played collegiately at Louisville. He spent last season with the New York Jets, and his season ended early after he injured his shoulder. Since she was just a little girl, Connie Moultroup has had the same Christmas wish every year: to meet her biological mother. This week -- after 69 long years -- she finally did, all thanks to a DNA ancestry kit.Genevieve Purinton, now 88, gave birth to Moultroup in 1949 at a hospital in Indiana. When she asked the staff if she could see her baby, they informed her the child had not survived."Because she was an unwed mother, she was told that I had died. She continued with her life not knowing I was still alive," Moultroup told CNN. It was not an uncommon practice at the time, as author Ann Fessler documented in the book "The Girls Who Went Away."Moultroup was taken to an orphanage and later adopted by a couple from Santa Barbara, California. But her adoptive parents passed away a few years later, when she was just 5-years-old."Her adoptive mother died of cancer, and shortly after, her adoptive father was diagnosed with a heart condition," Bonnie Chase, Moultroup's daughter, told CNN.Moultroup's adoptive father remarried, Chase said, but the woman ended up being abusive to her new daughter."So the whole time, she just wanted to find her actual mother to rescue her from that horrible situation," Chase said.After years of searching, Chase decided to give her mother an Ancestry.com DNA testing kit for Christmas last year -- and it ended up changing her life. Moultroup says it was the best Christmas present she has ever received."It took me a while to use it, but when I finally got the results I went from having only three known relatives (a daughter and two grandchildren), to 1,600 relatives. I was floored," Moultroup said.The results led her to a distant cousin. The two connected, and Moultroup began asking her questions about the family tree."I told her my mother's name was Genevieve Purinton, and my cousin said, "Oh, that's my aunt. And she's still alive, living on her own," Moultroup said. "I couldn't believe it. I was going to meet my mother."Moultroup took her mom's information and sent her a card with contact numbers. On September 8, her mother called."I was at church that day, and I never want to leave early, but that day I did. Literally, 20 minutes after getting home, my mother calls," Moultroup said.They agreed to meet each other, and on Monday, the two finally reunited at Purinton's home in a retirement community in Tampa, Florida."I met my mother and my cousin in person, and we cried. It was just a crying fest," Moultroup said. "Not everybody has this kind of outcome when looking for their parents, but I recommend you give it a try, you don't know what will happen."The story doesn't end there, though. SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — South Dakota health officials say a number of people who attended the 10-day Sturgis Motorcycle Rally this month, including some who came from out of state, have come down with COVID-19. State Department of Health officials on Thursday didn't give an exact number of rallygoers who tested positive, but they said it was under 25. State epidemiologist Josh Clayton says the health department has received reports from other states that people who traveled from the rally have tested positive. Contact tracers have been able to work with most people to determine who they were around and may have infected. But the health department has issued public warnings for two bars — one in Sturgis and the other at a popular stop for riders along U.S. Highway 385 near Mount Rushmore. Clayton said they did not know how many people were exposed at the bars.The health department did not immediately reply to a question about what other states have reported infections in people who attended the rally.The rally, which ended Sunday, brought hundreds of thousands of people from far and wide to Sturgis. Before it kicked off, some locals and officials worried that it could cause an outbreak that could follow rallygoers after they went home. 1263

ST LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. — They’re not giving up until they get answers.On Wednesday, glioblastoma patients and families who have had loved ones with the deadly brain cancer in St. Lucie County, met with officials from the Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County.READ MORE: St. Lucie County Glioblastoma CoverageIt was their first time meeting together since the health department revealed there is not a high number of glioblastoma cases in the county.That was determined after a five-week review of the state’s cancer registry from 1996 to 2015. The research focused on looking at the demographics of the area to determine how many new cases are to be expected each year in the county.Health officials determined St. Lucie County should see an average of 10 cases per year.The registry does not, however, have data yet for 2016 or 2017.Scripps station WPTV in West Palm Beach collected information from viewers who have glioblastoma or know of someone with glioblastoma in St. Lucie County to help provide some data for those two years.For now, 2016 appears to have at least 15 cases diagnosed in St. Lucie County, according to WPTV.  In 2017, it appears there were 11 cases from people who came forward with their information.The information is not medically verified, but has been given to the department of health in St. Lucie County by WPTV’s Meghan McRoberts to further investigate.The Health department said though the 2016 and 2017 numbers might be higher than the average of 10 cases, there is not a set formula for what number would be considered ’too high'. It would take further research.People like Lenny Schelin, Jr. who are battling glioblastoma, were glad to hear the health department is still going to look into the local glioblastoma cases, regardless of the state data showing there is not a high local rate of the cancer.“There’s still a lot of unknowns,” Schelin, Jr. said. He said he knows the number from the state’s cancer registry has some potential flaws. For example, it does not account for people who lived in St. Lucie County but were diagnosed with glioblastoma out of state.“Too many people moved. Too many people get diagnosed somewhere else. Just too many variables,” Schelin, Jr. said.The Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County Administrator Clint Sperber, also noted the information from the state’s cancer registry does not look at specific addresses to evaluate exactly how close together the patients live.That’s an issue to Kim Hart, whose mother is battling the disease.“Finding out a younger person is going through it a mile from us… it’s unfair,” Hart said. Other patients’ families said some cases are on the same block and street.Kevin Perry, Jr.’s dad is also battling GBM.“They’re not here. They’re not looking at, 'Oh, five people within a small little area.' They’re just looking at numbers,” Perry, Jr. said.But that’s where the local health department can step in and take a closer look at the proximity of the cases.The glioblastoma of St. Lucie County support group is also committed to doing its own research to have the best possible chance of getting answers.“We have a lot more work to do,” Hart said.“It’s terrifying. I wonder if I’m sitting around waiting for something to happen to me or someone close to me or anybody in this area, like, if something’s causing it, I’m just very adamant that they need to figure it out,” Perry Jr. said. 3449
