CINCINNATI -- On Tuesday afternoon, 16-year-old Kyle Jacob Plush called 911 panicking.Over the course of a three-minute call in which he gasped, cried repeatedly for help and struggled to communicate with the operator, he relayed that he was trapped inside his car in the parking lot of Seven Hills School."I probably don't have much time left, so tell my mom I love her if I die," he said. The call ended; when the operator attempted to call back, only a voicemail responded.A deputy sent to the scene called in soon after to report that he couldn't find anyone trapped in a van. He questioned if the call had been a prank.Plush was there. He called again."This is not a joke," he said. "I am trapped inside a gold Honda Odyssey van in the parking lot of Seven Hills. ... I'm almost dead."At several points in the second three-minute call, during which the operator does not respond and loud banging or heavy breathing can be heard, he attempts to call on the Siri automated iPhone assistant without success.Around 9 p.m., according to police, a family member discovered him dead inside the van -- a death Hamilton County Coroner Lakshmi Sammarco would rule accidental "asphyxia caused by chest compression."Something -- neither Sammarco nor Lt. Steve Saunders indicated what -- had pressed so hard against Plush's chest that he suffocated.The information released by police Wednesday afternoon did not clarify the reason the first deputy to respond was not able to find Plush's van or where Plush had been inside of it. (KGTV) - More than a dozen people were forced out their homes late Tuesday night after a driver crashed her car into a fire hydrant at an apartment complex in Chula Vista, causing water to be sent nearly 30 feet into the air.At around 11:45 p.m., Chula Vista police responded to reports of a geyser spewing water into the air on 3rd Avenue.The geyser, from a broken fire hydrant, flooded a nearby apartment complex, forcing the evacuation of 16 people from six units, four of which were heavily flooded.A black car that struck the hydrant tried to leave just after the wreck, but the car's female driver eventually came back to speak with officers. Police questioned the young driver, but she was released.City crews spent a few hours helping clear the water from the apartments. 807

(KGTV) -- New information from the county shows that an anonymous tip led to the inspection and eventual closure of Filippi's.According to the county, the property manager of the complex requested that the Department of Health's Vector Control Program provide a consultation on rodent activity at the complex. After completing the inspection of the building's exterior, inspectors reportedly found a small amount of rodent droppings near the dumpster areas behind the complex. RELATED: Filippi's pizza restaurant in Eastlake Chula Vista closes for good after vermin infestation reportIn February of 2018, the county says inspectors received an anonymous complaint regarding rodents inside Filippi's. The restaurant received a primary inspection report on April 18 showing that an inspector found 20 dried rodent droppings in a back oven and rodent nests in the panels of two ovens. The inspector also reportedly found rodent droppings in utensil storage areas, beneath a stove and in dry storage areas. The report shows that there were several holes in an exterior wall and a door leading to the outdoor trash area. A second inspection was conducted a second day which found six dried mouse droppings and two fresh rat droppings in a dry storage area. Dried urine was also found on plastic wrapper of cardboard pizza boxes and gnaw marks through plastic into boxes, according to the report.  1474

(KGTV) - A Chula Vista man is recovering after a painful encounter with a rattlesnake sent him to a hospital for several days.It happened in a quiet Eastlake neighborhood near a canyon. A week ago, along White Pine Ct., just before. 9 p.m., Lino Ayon was visiting a neighbor, inside a garage, when the neighbor pressed the remote. The door went up."As I stepped out, I felt like a pinch in my ankle area. Then I heard a rattle and by the time I said, 'Oh, that's a snake,' it bit me again," said Ayon.His neighbor tracked it down and killed it: a 3-and-a-half-foot rattlesnake. Meanwhile, Ayon quickly started feel the effects of the bites."My body started getting numb, my face and my chin," said Ayon.His left ankle -- where he had been bitten twice -- started to swell with pain. His speech was slurred."In my mind I knew what I wanted to say, but it wasn't coming out right," said Ayon.He was brought to the ER, eventually receiving two doses of antivenin. He was released from the hospital two days later."Very scary, never in a million years did I think I was going to be bitten by a snake," said Ayon.While rattlesnake bites for humans are fairly rare, experts say be on the lookout this time of year. It's birthing season, so there are more rattlers slithering about.Local snake wrangler Tom Mingha tells ABC 10News when the temperatures heat up, rattlesnakes become active at night, when it's cooler.That is when Ayon had his encounter. Cigarette boxes sold across the United States soon will display a new court-ordered accessory.Starting Wednesday, tobacco brands have been ordered to put "corrective statements" on product packaging that clearly state the harmful health effects of smoking, according to court documents.The order follows a long and rocky road of litigation against the tobacco industry.It comes as a result of a 1999 lawsuit that the US Department of Justice filed against the country's largest cigarette manufacturers and tobacco trade organizations, claiming civil fraud and racketeering violations over the course of more than 50 years.In 2006, federal Judge Gladys Kessler ruled that the tobacco industry had violated civil racketeering laws and ordered companies to issue "corrective statements" on their packaging, on company websites, and in print and television ads. 865
