Lawmakers in West Virginia did something Monday night that might be a first in American history: impeach an entire state Supreme Court.The West Virginia House of Delegates' impeachment of the justices on the state's Supreme Court of Appeals is an unprecedented move spurred by an escalating scandal in the state's judicial system. But West Virginia Democrats charge it's just a ploy by Republicans to put more conservative judges on the bench in the state's highest court.The court's justices -- Chief Justice Margaret Workman and Justices Allen Loughry, Robin Davis and Elizabeth Walker -- are accused of failing to carry out the court's administrative duties and wasteful spending during office renovations.They were impeached on 11 articles of impeachment, dealing with wasteful spending, maladministration, incompetency, neglect of duty and potential criminal behavior, according to a press release from state House Speaker Pro Tempore John Overington. 964

And then, the food pantry places an order once they have enough.Many local food drives are planning virtual events for the holidays, which is a critical time.A lot of what is raised now helps support them through the year.More Americans need help now than ever. LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Several streets were shut down in La Mesa Sunday morning after someone reportedly opened fire at a motorcyclist. Police say the shooting happened around 3 a.m. at the intersection of University Avenue and Marian Street. According to police, someone fired at least three shots at the motorcyclist, causing him to crash into a nearby fence. The motorcyclist wasn’t hit with gunfire during the shooting, but police say he was taken to the hospital with leg injuries due to the crash. At this time police are searching for a dark-colored sedan last seen heading east on University after the shooting. 631

LA MESA, Calif. (CNS) - Three people armed with handguns shot at a business and a vehicle in La Mesa, but no one was struck by the gunfire, police said Wednesday.The shooting happened shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday on El Cajon Boulevard just west of Parks Avenue, La Mesa police Lt. Brian Stoney said.The target of the shooting was an occupied business in a strip mall, Stoney said. The business' front window was shattered by the gunfire. The lieutenant did not disclose the name of the business."This appears to be an isolated incident," Stoney said Tuesday. "And although the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous, we do not believe there is any further threat in this immediate area right now."At least four men were inside the business when officer arrived, but were uninjured, the lieutenant said, adding that the men were detained for questioning.Officers spotted a vehicle driving away from the business with several bullet holes in its windshield, he said. Officers stopped the vehicle and also detained its two occupants, both men, for questioning.Witnesses told police they saw three people armed with handguns open fire on the business and the vehicle before fleeing in a vehicle, described only as a dark SUV, Stoney said.
