SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police are investigating Monday a woman's report that she was held against her will in Rancho Pe?asquitos.A woman arrived at a home on Caminito Cuadro at 10:45 a.m. and said she had been kidnapped and held captive in a neighboring house, police said. The location is in a residential area near SR-56 and Carmel Mountain Road.Neighbors told 10News they saw a naked woman covered in a bedsheet leave the home.The woman was taken to a nearby police station for an interview, police said.10News is monitoring developments in this story. 569

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County reported 284 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, 69 of those cases connected to San Diego State University.Thursday's reported cases bring the region's total to 41,608 cases.Since the fall semester started on Aug. 24, San Diego State has reported 509 confirmed COVID-19 cases and four probable cases. Greeters, or wellness ambassadors, are also on campus to remind students of COVID-19 policies.Violation of the policies can result in suspension or in extreme cases, expulsion.Thursday, the California State University system, which includes SDSU, announced that course would continue to be held mostly online in Spring 2021, with certain limited instances for in-person classes."We have learned from experience that announcing this decision now will allow faculty and staff to continue or start professional development to be even more effective in the virtual space. We also know that deciding now will allow our students and their families time to plan appropriately. This decision is the only responsible one available to us at this time," says CSU Chancellor Timothy White. Students are advised to call 2-1-1 or their medical providers and stay home if they feel ill. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police arrested nine people suspected of driving under the influence Saturday night. According to the department, the checkpoint was held on the 1400 block of G Street between 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday. A total of 2,403 vehicles went through the checkpoint, police say. More than 400 vehicles were screened, 13 drivers evaluated and nine people arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. San Diego Police said in a news release that they plan to conduct another DUI checkpoint at an undisclosed location on Halloween. The department also plans to increase patrol on Halloween to screen for intoxicated drivers. This week, companies like Uber are offering tips on how to get around for Halloween. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego is one of the most rent-burdened cities in the entire country, according to a new report by Freddie Mac. The report claims that America’s Finest City is the second most rent-burdened city in the nation. Miami took the top spot on the list, followed by San Diego, Los Angeles, New York and Orlando. The report also found that those who make minimum wage would have to work nearly 100 hours per week to be able to afford the median rent. To come up with the report, Freddie Mac looked at how other organizations measure affordability to assess the rent-burden issue. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police identified Friday the teenager shot and killed in Chollas Creek. Damien Anthony Feliz, 16, was found lying in the north alley of 5200 Ogden Street about 10:30 Wednesday night. A witness called 911 to report the scene. Police said Feliz had at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.
