(KGTV) — As part of the city's Hire Local initiative, Oceanside City of Oceanside and MiraCosta College have partnered to get locals into in-demand jobs amid the pandemic.MiraCosta College is offering free tuition, thanks to a federal grant, for several certificate programs that the city has identified as hard-to-fill jobs, including:Biomedical Equipment TechnicianEngineering TechnicianMachinistPhlebotomy TechnicianWelding ProgramComputer Network Controlled (CNC) Operator and Programming ProgramOceanside officials say the city will also absorb the college's administrative costs to help eliminate any financial barriers to the program. OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - A man was taken into custody in Oceanside on Monday morning after police say he broke into a short-term rental and sexually assaulted a woman. The sexual assault happened around 4 a.m. on the 800 block of South Pacific Street. According to police, Kwahmell Archer entered the home through an unlocked front door. Oceanside Police said there were 20 people inside the three-story rental when the suspect walked into a closet, got undressed and entered a sleeping woman’s bedroom. The 49-year-old woman woke up and screamed when the man grabbed her, waking up the rest of the house. Police said the suspect then ran back into the closet and was pinned inside by other people inside the house. Police arrived and took the man into custody. 773

(AP) -- Authorities in Florida say a Burger King worker was fatally shot after a dispute over a delay in a food order.The Orange County Sheriff's Office identified the shooter in a news release Sunday as 37-year-old Kelvis Rodriguez Tormes.Authorities say he is charged with first-degree murder with a firearm, destruction of evidence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.The victim was identified as 22-year-old Desmond Armond Joshua Jr., who had only recently begun working at the restaurant. 528

ONTARIO, Calif. – Even a coronavirus diagnosis couldn’t stop one California couple from saying “I do.”Lauren Delgado told NBC News that she tested positive for COVID-19 just five days before her wedding day and her marriage certificate was going to expire soon.So, Lauren and her fiancé, Patrick, replanned their nuptials and held their ceremony outside her mother’s home in Ontario, where the bride was quarantining.Like out of a Disney princess movie, Lauren sat at a second story window as she married the love of her life who stood below with the couple's masked loved ones.The couple’s wedding photographer, Jessica Jackson, captured the unusual yet beautiful moment when Lauren and Patrick exchanged vows.
