HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Alabama police say a dispute over crab legs at a dinner buffet ended in a brawl that left two people facing misdemeanor charges.Huntsville police officer Gerald Johnson says he was eating at the Meteor Buffet restaurant when a fight broke out.Johnson tells WHNT-TV that diners were using service tongs like fencing swords and plates were shattering, and a woman was beating a man. Johnson says diners had been waiting in line for crab legs for more than 10 minutes, and they lost their tempers once the food came out.The station reports Chequita Jenkins is charged with assaulting John Chapman, who suffered a cut on his head. Chapman is charged with disorderly conduct.Court records aren't available to show whether either person has a lawyer. 776

But if you look hard enough - something else is trying to take over.Limebike is a tech company that deals in two wheels.It's been a busy week for Colin McMahon, a manager at Limebike."On Friday we started rolling them out through all the weekend and now we are up to 200 bikes through operations," McMahon said.Limebike's mobile app is launching in Imperial Beach, its eighth city."A lot of curiosity so almost every time we brought a bike out of the truck people were asking what is this bike how does it work," McMahon said.Riders download the app, enter their credit card number and scan the back of the bike they want to ride.Even 4th grader, Jacquin Hallaway, can figure it out."I think it's fun that you can like rent a bike," Hallaway said.Unfortunately, not everyone has been behaving with the bikes.Someone in Seattle stuck one on a power pole but don't count out San Diego's shenanigans."There was one that was thrown off the pier. (KGTV) — Wednesday, Imperial Beach city leaders unanimously approved a one-cent sale tax measure for the November ballot.The city says, if enacted, the measure would, "enable the City to prepare for medical or catastrophic emergencies including preparing local first responder services, updating emergency communication systems and maintaining rapid 911 emergency response capacity."The potential one-cent sales tax increase would also support restoring the city's long-term emergency funding that is being used to address the coronavirus pandemic."Even through these challenging times, the City must continue to address challenges with clean, safe neighborhoods and addressing homelessness to maintain Imperial Beach as a quality community to live, work and raise a family for all residents," said Assistant City Manager, Erika Cortez-Martinez.The measure includes accountability and transparency requirements, including public disclosure of spending and independent audits, the city says.If approved it would go into effect in the spring of 2021. 1079

In another sign of the times for retail, Lowe's is closing 51 North American stores.The home improvement chain said Monday that locations are underperforming and the decision will help the hardware chain focus on its most profitable stores and "improve the overall health of its store portfolio."Lowe's (LOW) is shutting down 20 stores in the U.S. and 31 in Canada. The company said that a "majority" of the shuttered stores are within 10 miles of another Lowe's location.The stores will be closed before Feb. 1, 2019. The company will try to find jobs at nearby stores for its employees affected by the closings."We believe our people are the foundation of our business and essential to our future growth," said CEO Marvin R. Ellison.Lowe's is struggling to keep up with its larger rival Home Depot.
