TUCSON, Arizona — An Arizona high school principal admitted on Facebook he changed the grades of seniors at the school, but claims his supervisor directed him to take that action. The Tucson Unified School District Governing Board of Pueblo High School in Arizona have voted to release a district report on the incident that has been kept confidential.The board released the following report:         The governing board is set to vote Wednesday, March 28 on whether to release a portion of the report by the law firm hired by the district.Pueblo High School principal Auggie Romero has come under fire in recent years over a grade changing scandal.  He's been on the hot seat after a teacher came forward to E.W. Scripps television station KGUN in Tucson — that Romero changed several seniors grades without her consent — a violation of state law. And she provided proof — her grade sheets."This is something that has never happened before in my 31 years as a teacher," said Yolanda Sotelo in 2016. Romeo even admitted on Facebook he changed the grades, but claimed his supervisor, Abel Morado, directed him to take that action. KGUN obtained a scathing memo written by Morado, who stated that wasn't the case. He stated that he had reminded Romero he needed to get the teacher to change grades and Romero's "failure to comply with the very simple directive caused all of the controversy." The memo also reveals the Deconcini law firm investigated the allegations and found Romero "did change the student's grades." KGUN requested the document through a public records request, but the district declined citing attorney-client privilege. Now the board is voting on whether to release the findings "concerning potential violations of the law: improper grade-changing, improper promotion, and discrimination.  1961

TUCSON, Ariz. — Archeologists from the University of Arizona and Stanford University along with archeologists from Italy have discovered a 10-year-old's body at an ancient Roman site suggesting the child was given a "vampire burial" to prevent the child coming back from the dead.The skeletal remains included a skull with a rock intentionally inserted into the mouth. Researchers believe the stone may have been placed there as part of a funeral ritual to contain a disease like malaria."I have never seen anything like it. It's extremely eerie and weird," said David Soren, a Univeristy of Arizona archeologist.The discovery was made at La Necropoli dei Bambini, or the Cemetery of the Babies.The cemetery dates back to the mid-fifth century when a deadly malaria outbreak swept the area, killing many young children and babies.Until now, archeologists believed the cemetery was designed for infants, toddlers and unborn fetuses. In previous excavations, a 3-year-old girl was the oldest child found.Now, archeologists are looking into whether the cemetery was used for older children too."There are still sections of the cemetery that haven't been excavated yet, so we don't know if we'll find older kids," said Jordan Wilson, a bioarcheologist with the University of Arizona. In previous excavations, archeologists found signs of witchcraft, including toad bones, raven talons and bronze cauldrons."We know that the Romans were very much concerned with this and would even to the extent of employing witchcraft to keep the evil — whatever is contaminating the body — from coming out," Soren said.Although the body will undergo DNA testing, the child had an abscessed tooth, which is a side effect of malaria, that suggests the child may have died because of the disease.Archeologists believe the rock was intentionally inserted after death because of the position of the jaw.These types of burials are called "vampire burials" since they are associated with the belief that the dead could rise again. 2062

UNION COUNTY, Ind. -- A recently approved medical device is tiny, but mighty in the fight against opioid abuse. The NSS-2 Bridge, a battery-powered device similar to a hearing aid, was created by Indiana-based Innovative Health Solutions. It helps reduce symptoms associated with opioid withdrawal, such as nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain and anxiety. It is worn behind the ear for five days at a time, sending electrical pulses to the brain. It’s the first FDA-approved device for use in helping to reduce the symptoms of opioid withdrawal, which is key because most addicts return to drugs to alleviate the pain from those symptoms.Kaylin Fairchild, 26, is living proof that the device can help. Nearly three years ago, heroin held her hostage. She overdosed while her son was in the backseat and it took four shots of Narcan to bring her back. To make things worse, she found her mother dead of a drug overdose in 2015.Rock bottom hit when the state took custody of her son for several months.But a new program at the Union County Health Department stepped in with hope."I thought they were full of (it)," Fairchild said. "I thought it was a bunch of talk. What is this little device, how's it going to make me feel any better?"Kaylin now has custody of her son and attends group meetings with the help of the device.Tom Schulte, who took painkillers because of knee injuries, says The Bridge helped him get to a life where he's no longer dependent on pills. "I couldn't hold a job," Schulte said. And really they were going to come in no matter how they wanted to come in. They were going to come in, even a rough way. Many of these people are leaving now and going back to their countries. ... If you notice, it's getting a lot less crowded in Mexico," Trump said. "And a lot of them are going to stay in Mexico, and the Mexican government has been working with us very well. So we appreciate that. But they haven't been coming into our country. We can't let people come in that way. So that's pretty much it."But Mexican immigration authorities said Tuesday that many migrants were still waiting at the border for the chance to make their case for asylum in the United States -- and that more than 1,000 migrants from the caravan may have crossed into the United States already.According to data provided by the US Department of Homeland Security, US Customs and Border Protection had apprehended 1,036 caravan migrants as of Monday.
