SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - One man was injured in a stabbing in Spring Valley Sunday evening, according to the San Diego Sheriff's Department.Deputies said that a man between the ages of 40 and 50 was transported to the hospital after another man stabbed him, and he is expected to survive.The call to the residence near Dale Avenue and S. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Parents and students are concerned after someone found a bullet in a Point Loma High School restroom. The incident was reported on Monday and while students say there was a lack of communication from school staff, word traveled fast on campus. The school says police are now investigating. "We never heard anything over the intercom or anything," says senior Javan Hedrick. "In my 4th period class, it came up out of nowhere. Everyone was talking about some bullet found in the boys bathroom." Around noon, parents received an email sent from the school's principal, that says in part: "At Point Loma, our first priority is to provide a safe and secure learning environment for our students. As such, I wanted to make you aware of an incident that occurred this morning. School Police investigated a report of a bullet found on the floor of the boys restroom. After an investigation, it was determined there was no threat."Some parents pulled their kids out of class and aren't sure when they'll send them back. "I walked into the office, it was a crazy amount of kids trying to go home," says Hedrick. Students say they would have felt a little better if school staff talked to them about the incident. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Opponents of  San Diego's new short-term rental regulations are accusing the city council of violating the Brown Act when it passed the new rules earlier this month. A letter drafted by an attorney on behalf of Air B and B, Home Away and Share San Diego was sent to the council Monday. It alleges the council violated the law when it made significant changes to the original proposal up for approval and then voted without allowing for more public comment. What they passed would essentially ban people from renting out anything other than their primary residence or a guesthouse on their property. The opponents are asking the council to hold another hearing. The city council is scheduled to hear a second reading of the short-term rental regulations Wednesday, August 1.  852

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - On Tuesday, San Diego beach parking lots, piers, and boardwalks reopened following their closures amid the pandemic. The reopening came in time for the heat wave.10News witnessed beachgoers from Pacific Beach to South Mission Beach who took advantage of the lifted restrictions.A heat advisory was in effect until 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Coastal highs were in the 80s and 90s."It was a lot of fun since we can’t get out that much," said Ashyton Malan who visited the beach on Tuesday with his family. Mother Jennifer Malan added, "People are far apart and not a lot of masks but there was nobody encroaching on anybody’s space so it was nice."The City reports that visitors are still required to practice social distancing with anyone outside of their household and they cannot congregate or participate in active sporting activities on the beaches. 871
