A 47-year-old former model involved in a custody dispute plunged to her death from a Manhattan hotel Friday, according to three law enforcement sources.New York police found the bodies of Stephanie Nicolai and her 7-year-old son, Vincent, on a second-floor balcony of the Gotham Hotel, where the two were guests, police said.The bodies were discovered about 8:15 a.m. Friday after a 911 call about an unconscious woman and child at the 25-story boutique hotel on East 46th Street, according to police.Police believe Nicolai's death was a suicide, the law enforcement sources said. Detectives are examining video from the area and speaking with people who knew her in their quest for a motive.The pair were staying in the hotel's penthouse, according to CNN affiliate WABC.The order in which they fell to their deaths is unclear, according to one source with knowledge of the ongoing investigation.A leading theory of investigators is the possibility of a murder-suicide but the medical examiner will make a final determination, the source said.Detectives are also looking into the custody dispute between Nicolai and her estranged husband, according to the source.New York divorce lawyer Raoul Felder said he represented Nicolai in the custody dispute until about four months ago and that he had grown concerned about her."I've known her 20 years," he told CNN. (KGTV) - Attorneys for a former student of the Bishop’s School in La Jolla announced Tuesday a child sexual abuse lawsuit against the elite private school and the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego. The man claims he was repeatedly molested by a female computer science teacher starting when he was 16 years old. 10News has reached out to the San Diego Police Department and The Bishop's School about the allegations but neither have commented at this time. Calls to the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego were unanswered Tuesday afternoon.The alleged abuse included sexual intercourse on campus, at [the defendant's] house, and other La Jolla and San Diego area locations, the lawsuit states. “On multiple occasions, teachers and Bishop’s Headmistress saw [the Plaintiff] exiting the computer lab together, with no other person in the room,” the plaintiff's attorneys said in a news release. The teacher was 32 years old at the time the alleged affair started, and was married with children, according to the release. In the release, attorney and victim’s advocate Vince Finaldi describes a long history of "criminal sexual activity" at the prestigious private high school."The Bishop’s School is a prestigious institution which charges parents more than ,000 per year in tuition. They advertise their affiliation with the Episcopal Dioceses as a way to assure parents of the moral rectitude of the school. Yet, they failed miserably in their most basic responsibility—keeping their students safe from sexual predators.” In May of this year, 10News reported that the school investigated numerous claims of sexual abuse at the campus. (KGTV) — Riverside County health officials have announced the Stagecoach and Coachella music festivals — originally rescheduled for October — have been canceled for 2020.Citing concerns over a fall surge in coronavirus cases, Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser signed the order canceling the popular festivals."I am concerned as indications grow that COVID-19 could worsen in the fall. In addition, events like Coachella and Stagecoach would fall under Governor Newsom’s Stage 4, which he has previously stated would require treatments or a vaccine to enter," said Kaiser. "Given the projected circumstances and potential, I would not be comfortable moving forward. These decisions are not taken lightly with the knowledge that many people will be impacted. My first priority is the health of the community."Riverside County says it is in contact with festival organizer Goldenvoice regarding the cancelations.As of Wednesday, Goldenvoice had not issued specific guidance on refunds for the two festivals, but offers general refund guidance for concerts on its website here. 1105
