CHICAGO (KGTV) -- Police say three people were shot and one person is dead after a shooting at a Starbucks in Chicago Thursday night.According to ABC 7 in Chicago, the shooting happened in the city's Uptown neighborhood at 8:30 p.m. Police say a 12-year-old was transported to the hospital in unknown condition after being shot in the groin. An adult male was shot and took himself to the hospital. One COVID-19 testing rolling out in the fall looks to achieve all three and maybe even one day mail the tests straight to your home.“Involves just a nasal swab so not a nasopharyngeal swab, just around the rim of the inside of the nose rather than tickling the brain,” said Dr. Joseph Petrosino.The test costs and lets you know if you’ve got the coronavirus within 15 minutes.So far it’s reporting an accuracy rate in clinical labs of 97%.Dr. Petrosino, a molecular virologist with Baylor College of Medicine, took an independent look at the Binax Now ABBOT Rapid test rolling out in October.He says they’re reliable, easy to use, and less vulnerable to supply chain interruptions.“The test is just made out of cardboard and paper, it doesn’t rely on a lot of supply chain plastics or other needs that could potentially hold things up,” said Dr. Petrosino.However, antigen tests like these have been found to produce more false negatives than lab-based tests.Dr. Petrosino says the key is the affordability that would allow large numbers of people at schools and businesses to get tested more frequently, isolating potential outbreaks.“What’ll happen is you’ll have a band that appears if you’re positive as well as a band that relates to whether or not the test worked itself,” said Dr. Petrosino.There’s also a free app that works in conjunction with the test.It allows people to display their results in places where negative tests may eventually be needed for entry, such as schools, workplaces, or large events.Last week, President Donald Trump said the federal government will buy 150 million of the tests to distribute across the country.Fifty million are expected to be available to purchase in October, but folks interested will need to get them at a medical clinic, at least for now.“Currently, you can’t get this test directly, but in the future, you may be able to,” said Dr. Petrosino.This story was first published by Cameron Polom at KNXV in Phoenix, Arizona. 2015

(KGTV) - A former DACA recipient was arrested Monday on his second attempt to re-enter the U.S. from Mexico.El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents received information from Remote Video Surveillance Systems operators that a man had crossed the border fence approximately 3 miles east of Calexico.RVSS monitors showed the man running away from agents as they tried to arrest him, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said.After a brief chase, agents caught 23-year-old Mexican citizen Juan Manual Montes-Bojorquez.CBP said Montes had previously been deported in February.“Our agents witnessed and arrested Mr. Bojorquez making an illegal entry into the United States for the second time this year,” said Assistant Chief Patrol Agent David S. Kim. “Border Patrol Agents will always stop, detain, and arrest anyone making an illegal entry into the country irrespective of their immigration or citizenship status.” Montes was booked into the Imperial County Jail on pending charges of re-entry after removal.  1047

BURBANK, Calif. (AP) — Traffic was backed up for miles for thousands of drivers Friday night on a busy Los Angeles-area freeway after a chase that lasted well over an hour and saw the driver repeatedly back into police cruisers.At one point after backing into a cruiser, the man gestured from his window with what appeared to be a knife.The man drove onto Interstate 5 in Burbank the wrong way, eventually passed a police barrier and rammed into several cars before stopping.Police evacuated drivers from their cars while they had their guns trained on the car. The driver eventually got out. It appeared that officers used a stun gun on him, prompting him to get back into the car.A standoff pursued and eventually ended after the man got out of the car, laid down for a while and tried to run away.
