El Cajon (KGTV)- An El Cajon Family is on the edge after a man tried to break into their home through their toddler’s bedroom. The family lives off Chase Avenue. Liz Jasiak says she noticed a handprint on her son’s bedroom window on Christmas Eve. When she went outside, there was a latex glove sitting behind the trash bins, near the window, in their backyard. “You have this little person who is depending on you to take care of them and their safety,” says Jasiak. “So it's definitely a sense of violation.”Surveillance video shows the man walking up to the home and lingering on the front porch moments after she leaves to take her son to daycare. The video then shows the man leaving but returns and disappears on the other side of the home. “It’s kind of creepy to think that someone was watching my habits or my moves because the moment we left he immediately enters our yard, says Jasiak.”The family says multiple screens to the windows of their home were cut around the same time the suspect tried to break in. The family has reported the crime to the El Cajon Police Department. They say they will be adding extra security to their home. 1156

EL CAJON (CNS) - A 21-year-old man accused of leading Border Patrol agents on a high-speed pursuit that ended with a crash on Interstate 8 in Boulevard, killing three of the suspected undocumented immigrants riding in the pickup and injuring seven others, was charged today with murder and other counts.Arraignment for Luis Alberto Virgen, a U.S. citizen who lives in Tijuana, was postponed until Dec. 18 so he can hire an attorney. He was charged with three counts each of second-degree murder and gross vehicular manslaughter, along with seven counts of reckless driving causing injury.Virgen, who is being held on million bail, faces up to 45 years to life in prison.Virgen allegedly sped off when federal officers tried to pull over the passenger-packed white Chevrolet Silverado he was driving near the Mexican border in eastern San Diego County shortly before 4:30 p.m. last Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.RELATED: Truck fleeing Border Patrol crashes in Boulevard; 3 killedWith the agents giving chase, Virgen entered Interstate 8 at Buckman Springs Road and fled to the east briefly before exiting at Ribbonwood Road and re-entering the freeway, this time headed west, the Border Patrol reported.After fleeing for several more miles, the suspect ran over a tire- flattening spike strip that agents had laid across the roadway in his path east of Crestwood Road, according to the federal agency.About a minute later, the Silverado -- occupied by a single passenger in the front and the rest unrestrained in the cargo bed -- veered off the interstate, went up a dirt embankment, became airborne, overturned and rolled back down the sloping roadside onto the freeway.Virgen was the only one in the truck wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and the others were ejected, CHP public-affairs Officer Travis Garrow said. Two of the male passengers and the sole female member of the group died at the scene of the crash.The names of the deceased were withheld pending family notification. Paramedics took Virgen and the surviving passengers to a hospital for treatment of moderate to serious injuries, Garrow said.About an hour after the fatal accident, Border Patrol personnel in the area came across another vehicle believed to have been involved in the apparent human-smuggling attempt and arrested a second man. Due to a recent rise in reported health issues, the US Food and Drug Administration warned on Tuesday against using or purchasing Rhino male enhancement products.Since 2007, the FDA said, it has identified more than 25 Rhino products, some with names such as Platinum Rhino 25000 and Krazzy Rhino 25000, that have hidden drug ingredients.The FDA said the products are often sold in single-serving packages at locations such as gas stations and convenience stores, or through online retailers such as eBay and Amazon. Recently, the products have also been found in international mail shipments, the agency said.In an email, eBay spokesman Ryan Moore said, "Product safety is important to eBay and we work hard to ensure our marketplace is free of harmful products. These types of items are prohibited under our policies, and therefore not allowed to be listed on the eBay market place." EBay regularly sweeps the site to remove such items, he said.Amazon has not responded to a request for comment."Over the past few years, the FDA has been combatting the retail sale of male enhancement drug products that are frequently misrepresented as dietary supplements and that contain hidden and potentially harmful active drug ingredients," said Donald D. Ashley, director of the Office of Compliance at the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.According to the FDA, the "products contain undeclared ingredients that are the same as or structurally similar to active ingredients found in FDA-approved prescription drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction."For example, some Rhino products contain the same active ingredient as Viagra and Cialis, sildenafil and/or tadalafil, respectively. These undeclared ingredients can lead to "significant safety issues and the risk of serious adverse events," the FDA said."The FDA has received reports of people experiencing chest pain, severe headaches and prolonged erections after taking a Rhino product that led to surgical intervention and hospitalization due to extreme drops in blood pressure," according to the agency.People who experience negative health effects or have issues with the quality or safety of a dietary supplement can report it to the FDA's MedWatch Safety Information program. (KGTV) -- A metal recycling facility in El Cajon burst into flames Wednesday afternoon, sending thick, black smoke into the air.The fire erupted at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Bradley Avenue near In-N-Out Burger.In total, 20 firefighters from Santee Heartland and San Miguel responded to the blaze. Firefighters said they had to use breathing tanks because they didn't want to come into contact with the heavy smoke.The official cause of the fire hasn’t been confirmed, but crews received reports that the fire started in the car crusher then spread to nearby recycled materials. "Oh it stinks really bad. I took hazmat training. Any time they are burning stuff like that stay upwind and don't smell that stuff,” said Larry Sutton, a worker in the area.Crews used an aerial water stream to send 1,000 gallons of water per minute onto the large fire. "We had one in July, fire prevention bureau working with the business to make ensure materials are stored properly and measures are safe,” said Justin Fuller with the San Miguel Fire Department.Crews also consulted with a hazmat team due to the nature of the fire. Officials said they are working to try and control runoff from the fire which may contain hydraulic fluid from the car-crushing device. 1287
