Actor Ryan Reynolds is offering a ,000 reward to anyone who can help a woman reunite with her missing teddy bear.During an interview with CBC, the woman was moving in Vancouver when the bag holding the bear went missing.The woman told CBC that the bear is very dear to her because it reportedly has a recording of her late mother's voice on it. After the Trump Campaign requested the presidential debates be moved closer to the election because some states will begin mail-in voting while the debates are being held, the Commission on Presidential Debates denied the campaign’s request.In a letter addressed to Trump campaign surrogate Rudolph Giuliani, the commission said it will stick with its planned three presidential debates – the first being held on September 29, and final one on October 22.“ In 2016, when the debate schedule was similar, only .0069% of the electorate had voted at the time of the first debate. While more people will likely vote by mail in 2020, the debate schedule has been and will be highly publicized,” the commission wrote. “Any voter who wishes to watch one or more debates before voting will be well aware of that opportunity.”As part of Giuliani’s request, Trump’s team sought an additional debate this fall.The Trump campaign quickly countered the debate commission’s response.“We are disappointed in your response, but appreciate your openness to a fourth, or earlier, debate ‘if the candidates were to agree that they wished to add to that schedule[,]'" wrote Giuliani. “Your reply makes it clear that the idea of an earlier debate is, in effect, locked away in the basement, alone and diminished. ALPINE, Calif. (KGTV) - The San Diego Sheriff’s Department is looking for the people responsible for breaking into the Children's Nature Retreat in Alpine and setting several animals loose.The break-in happened between Saturday night and early morning hours of Sunday morning, according to Anges Barrelet, the CEO of the Children's Nature Retreat Foundation.The non-profit houses farm livestock, as well as exotic animals.Barrelet says the intruders didn’t steal anything but cut open two enclosures. There are more than a 130 animals in the roughly 20 acres property, and they set more than a dozen animals loose.Some of them were injured by cages on the way out, getting cuts and scrapes, but the staff was able to put them all back into their enclosures.None of the animals escaped the perimeter fencing."It's completely ridiculous, and it's awful,” Barrelet said. "They put those animals in danger."The enclosures have been temporarily patched up, but Barrelet says they had to close to the public for a few days until the fences can be properly repaired. She says it’s just not safe to have visitors at the park until the barriers can be fixed.The Children's Nature Retreat hopes to reopen next week. 1213

After Hurricane Laura hammered parts of the Gulf Coast, communities are coming together with people helping people.“The battle cry is out there,” said Curtis Drafton, who is gearing up for a private rescue mission. “The bell is tolling. Let’s go get it!”This United States Army veteran, who spent his life helping others, is now spending his own money to do the same as a civilian.“Last year we spent around ,533,” he said.Drafton is leading the Veteran Emergency Response Unit, a nonprofit providing relief during natural disasters.“It’s not really about the money,” he said. “It’s like, Americans are suffering, Americans are dying and at the end of the day, somebody has got to pick up the slack.”About an hour outside of Baton Rouge in Gator Country, neighbors gathered to help remove a fallen tree off Paige Fontenote’s brand new outdoor carport that was crushed during the storm.“It touches my heart; it makes me want to cry,” she said.Overcome with emotions, Fontone almost broke down from the support from people in the area where she wants to retire.“This is what it’s all about,” she said. “This is why we want to move here.”In Lafayette, Louisiana, homeowners took matters into their own hands, chopping down a fallen tree between a home and an apartment complex.“You cook a gumbo, you hope nothing doesn’t happen to your house and then you get out and help your friends,” said one local man.Helping friends in this time of need as people continue to help other people.“If 2020 hasn’t taught us anything that would be it,” the man said. “Turn the TV off, spend time with your neighbors and do it for them.” 1628

Across the country, as coronavirus testing has increased, so have the long lines waiting to take a test. Some people are reporting having to wait nearly two weeks for results, in some cases.Arizona State University's Biodesign Institute says their new saliva test could be a real game-changer in getting a better handle on this pandemic.On July 10, ABC15 met Heidy Gonzales who was in line for free testing through the HeroZona Foundation at South Mountain Community College."There are some people who have been coming twice, three times," she explained.That was the story for another young woman we met, Mika, who says she had been to the same testing site the day before and was turned away. After extended family tested positive, she didn't want to take any chances. She says, she didn't have a choice but to come back. And it's not just long lines but also long wait times, with some people waiting as long as two weeks to get results.
