Tropical Storm Beta has made landfall on the Gulf Coast of Texas, bringing heavy rain and threats of flooding to the Lone Star state. At least two dozen water rescues were reported in Houston early Tuesday morning. The center of Beta crossed over the southern end of the Matagorda Peninsula at about midnight ET on Tuesday, according to the National Hurricane Center. Two curious emperor penguins in Antarctica stumbled across a camera and the video is going viral. The curious birds flipped it over to face skyward, which recorded them staring into the camera and apparently trying to figure out what the device was doing on their turf. The Australian Antarctic division posted the 38-second clip on its Twitter page March 7. It has more than 246,000 views as of Friday morning.The camera was placed there by expeditioner Eddie Gault. VALLEY CENTER, Calif. (KGTV) -- The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a North County man who disappeared November 14. According to authorities, 54-year-old Brian Lee Danelson was reported missing November 20 after disappearing from the Harvest Farms Market in Valley Center days earlier. Danelson left without his wallet and his cellphone was disconnected, according to his family.Deputies have searched the area surrounding his home in Valley Center and have checked with hospitals to see whether or not he was admitted. According to the Department, Danelson has a tattoo of a tiger on his inner left calf. He is described as six foot tall with gray hair and blue eyes.
