(KGTV) -- The 75-year-old pilot who was killed when his small passenger plane crashed in Northern California Friday night has been identified as Carl Morrison of Fallbrook. Sonoma County Sheriff's Office responded to a call from the US Air Force at about 6:40 p.m. reporting an emergency transponder activation from a small passenger plane in the city of Petaluma, about 40 miles north of San Francisco.  Deputies were dispatched to the location but were unable to locate the plane."Around the same time, a woman from San Diego County had called Petaluma PD and reported her husband was overdue home," said Sgt. Spencer Crum of the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.Shortly after 10:00 PM deputies spotted a small fire in a remote ravine near the 3600 block of Manor Lane, Crum said. Deputies reached the location of the fire and discovered the downed aircraft and the body of a man believed to be the pilot.The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.Morrison was believed to have left the Petaluma Airport en route to San Diego County in his Mooney M20 fix winged airplane, the sheriff's office said.Bob Morrison, Carl Morrison's oldest son, said that Carl Morrison was a retired U.S. Marine who served twenty years. He was also the Region Vice Commander of the Fallbrook Senior Squadron 87 Civil Air Patrol. He served with them since 2006.In addition to being a father of six, he was a lawyer who owned an environmental consulting company, Bob Morrison said. He was in Northern California on business, returning home, when his plane crashed. Bob Morrison said his father had been flying for 20 years, which was a lifelong dream of his. "He left his mark wherever he went in a positive way," Bob Morrison said. 1794

(KGTV) - Neighbors in San Marcos are sounding the alarm on a suspected prowler after his antics were caught on two different doorbell cameras.The first video from a homeowner in the Richland area of San Marcos shows a man cover his face while peering into a stranger’s home and whistle at the dog inside in an attempt to stop it from barking.The second video from the front door of Sam Ilaian’s house captures the man loitering in his driveway before walking up to take the ring camera.“He pulled it off the wall completely,” said Ilaian, “brackets and everything.”The Sheriff’s department has the video now and Ilaian says the neighborhood is a little more vigilant.As for his front door, “I think now I’ll install more cameras there,” said Ilaian.  763

A 33-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday after North Las Vegas police said she carried a pickax onto a school campus and threatened children while they were at lunch.Police said just before noon, a resident near Tom Williams Elementary School called police regarding a woman who was carrying a pickax as she was climbing over the school's chain link fence. Two-hundred-fifty children were outside at the time.According to police, the woman, identified as Kisstal Killough, was acting erratic and screaming that she was going to kill everyone.Police arrived within one minute. She put down on the ax and dropped to the ground before orders were given by police.Killough was arrested on charges of assault, trespass, nuisance and loitering on a school property. The principal of Tom Williams Elementary sent a letter out to parents. The safety of our students is the number one priority at Tom Williams Elementary School. As always, we want to keep you informed of important issues happening within our school community.We want to let you know that earlier today, an adult, not associated with our school, attempted to climb a fence to trespass on our campus. Staff and students noticed the woman and law enforcement was called.Officers from the North Las Vegas Police Department responded immediately and took the woman into custody before she could access the playground area. Strokes, which are typically associated with the elderly, are appearing more in people under 50 years old, according to Sharp Health Care. According to the American Heart Association, a stroke happens when a clot in a blood vessel stops blood from reaching the brain. Doctors believe the increase is due to higher rates of obesity and diabetes, and poor management of blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Risk factors include smoking, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. The only FDA-approved treatment for ischemic strokes dissolves the clot and improves blood flow, according to the American Stroke Association. However, it must be administered within three hours.
