LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- One former police officer has been charged in the Breonna Taylor case, but that doesn't mean it's the end of investigations.People across the country have been following the case of Taylor's death, and many wanted to see the officers involved face criminal charges. Demonstrations were held Wednesday night in Louisville and other cities after it was announced former Louisville Metro Police Department Detective Brett Hankison's charges of wanton endangerment are not directly related to Taylor's death. Additionally, two officers who fired shots the night Taylor was killed will not face criminal charges. They do still face another investigation, though. The Courier-Journal reports that the Louisville police department is conducting a Professional Standards Unit investigation to determine whether they and four other officers violated police policy or rules during the raid. The results of this internal review could lead to disciplinary action. Also, the FBI is conducting an investigation that could result in civil rights violations.Governor Andy Beshear is calling for the details of the state's investigation to be posted online by Attorney General Daniel Cameron."I trust Kentuckians. They deserve to see the facts for themselves, and I believe that the ability to process those facts helps everybody," said Beshear.Taylor's case is one of many that became a focus in the conversation about police reform. Attorney General Cameron says he'll form a task force to look at Kentucky's search warrants' policies. In Lexington, protesters have called to ban no-knock warrants, just like in Louisville. This story was originally published by Alex Valverde at WLEX. 1694

MIAMI (AP) — President Donald Trump is postponing his planned rally Saturday in New Hampshire citing a tropical storm threatening parts of the mid-Atlantic and southern New England.Press secretary Kayleigh McEnany tells reporters traveling with the president Friday to Florida that the event — slated to be held in an aircraft hangar in Portsmouth — will be delayed by a week or two.She cited the threat of Tropical Storm Fay, which is expected to bring heavy rain to the region. The event was to mark Trump’s first political rally in three weeks, after his return to his signature campaign events from a coronavirus-induced hiatus was overshadowed by an embarrassing display of empty seats and questions about the campaign’s ability to attract people to large events in a pandemic. 789

We will get justice for Breonna. pic.twitter.com/rOM2bhVdAy— untilfreedom (@untilfreedom) August 6, 2020 The erecting of the signs isn’t the first action Oprah has taken in the call for justice. She also honored Taylor by featuring her on the front of her O Magazine’s September issue, the first person besides Oprah herself to be on the cover of the publication.#BreonnaTaylor for our September cover. pic.twitter.com/yyulcONtgv— O The Oprah Magazine (@oprahmagazine) July 30, 2020 Taylor died on March 13 after three Louisville police officers executing a search warrant used a battering ram to enter her home. The 26-year-old emergency room technician and her boyfriend were in bed. After a brief exchange, Taylor’s boyfriend reportedly fired his gun and then police fired shots, striking Taylor at least eight times. She died in the apartment hallway.Since Taylor’s death, protests have been held across the country, demanding that the officers involved be charged in her killing. Many celebrities other than Oprah have also used their platforms to call for action. For now, the shooting is under investigation by the FBI and Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron. Both are deciding whether criminal charges are warranted in the case. 1945

Math enthusiasts know all about it, and the rest of the population is probably hoping for cherry pie.But March 14 is Pi Day. While last year stretched the symbolic celebration out a little longer -- to 3.1415 -- each year presents ample opportunity for learning. To 31 decimal places, the celebrated irrational number that never ends is 3.1415926535897932384626433832795.A few more tidbits about pi and Pi Day:About piPi is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. It's not equal to the ratio of any two whole numbers, so an approximation -- 22/7 -- is used in many calculations.Pi is essential in architecture and construction and was used frequently by early astronomers. Pi has been known for about 4,000 years, but it started to be called by the Greek letter only in the 1700s.The origin of Pi DayPi Day started 30 years ago at San Francisco's Exploratorium.Physicist Larry Shaw, who worked in the electronics group at the museum, started celebrating pi on March 14, 1988, primarily with museum staffers. The tradition has grown to embrace math enthusiasts from all walks of life. For more about pi, visit www.piday.org. 1159

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A prosecutor is dropping a felony charge against dozens of protesters who gathered at the Kentucky Attorney General's home to demand justice in Breonna Taylor's death. The group of protesters included civil rights leaders, "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Porsha Williams, and Houston Texans football player Kenny Stills. Attorney General Daniel Cameron's office is heading an investigation into the fatal shooting of Taylor by police who were conducting a no-knock warrant. Jefferson County Attorney Mike O'Connell dismissed the felony charge Friday. He says police had probable cause for the charge, but he decided to dismiss it "in the interest of justice and the promotion of the free exchange of ideas." 740
