SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two 7-Eleven stores located within two miles of each other in San Diego were robbed by a man with a gun and the suspect in each incident was at-large Saturday morning.The first occurred at 11:10 p.m. in the 4200 block of Voltaire Street, near Catalina Boulevard, in the Point Loma Heights neighborhood, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.The suspect walked into the store and approached the clerk, then lifted his shirt and showed the clerk the handle of a gun in his waistband and demanded money. The clerk gave the suspect an unknown amount of money and the man ran out of the store southbound on Catalina Boulevard, Heims said.The second robbery occurred at 12:45 a.m. Saturday at 3185 Midway Drive, near Sports Arena Boulevard, when a man walked into the store, lifted up his shirt and pulled a gun from his waistband, placed it on the counter facing the clerk and demanded money, Heims said.The clerk gave the gunman an unknown amount of money and the suspect put the gun back in his waistband then ran from the store northbound on East Drive into the Target parking lot, Heims said.In both robberies, the suspect was described as a white man, late 20s to early 30s, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds with short brown hair and a mustache. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A big rig blew a tire and veered across all lanes of southbound Interstate 15 at Carmel Mountain Road Thursday afternoon, leading to a Sig Alert on the freeway. The flatbed truck lost its front left tire about 2:20 p.m., the California Highway Patrol reported. The driver lost control and hit two cars before crashing into the center divider. One of the cars hit an SUV, and was knocked over the freeway rail into the HOV lanes.The CHP reported debris on the freeway from the crash, including fuel leaking from the truck. One injured person was taken to Palomar Medical Center, City of San Diego officials reported. Another driver had minor injuries.Check 10News traffic conditions The far left lane of I-15 and the right lane of the HOV section reopened at 5:45 p.m., according to the CHP. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A burglary at a shuttered salon in the College Area has dealt a 'punch to the gut' to an owner struggling to keep her business open.Just before 6 a.m. Sunday morning, video shows someone at the door of 'DO Beauty Boutique on El Cajon Boulevard. In the video, the door can be heard being pried open for several minutes, before the burglar lets himself in. Another intruder soon follows. With flashlights shining, they go shopping for more than 20 minutes before ripping down the surveillance camera."It's gut-wrenching. Just trying not to cry," said salon owner Tiffany Schaaff.Schaaff who opened the salon three years ago."They cleaned us out. Definitely a punch to the gut," said Schaaff.Shelves full of retail hair products are now empty. Also missing were tools of the trade, including flat irons, blow dryers, and scissors. The thieves even took drawers to carry out their haul.The total loss, including damage to the front door, is now at ,000 and climbing. Schaaff has insurance, but even the deductible is a hardship."Very trying. Definitely a month-to-month situation as to whether we are going to continue," said Schaaff.The salon is in its third shutdown of the pandemic. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A bill created to improve warehouse working conditions has passed the state's Senate Labor Committee.Assembly Bill 3056, authored by Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez, ensures warehouse workers can take a restroom break, use a hand-washing station, drink water, or take a legally mandated break without fear of being fired.“We shouldn’t need to write a bill to make sure warehouse workers are able to take a restroom break or wash their hands without being reprimanded. But time and time again, Amazon has shown disregard for the safety of their workers -- even during this ongoing public health crisis,” Gonzalez said.AB 3056 not only applies to Amazon workers, but also to those who work at Target, Walmart, and other retailer warehouses.There has been an exponential rise in online sales leading to several companies adding automated systems to control the workflow.
