The loss of a loved one is devastating and dealing with the grief is a complex process, but two sisters who’ve both been touched by tragedy are on a mission to help others heal their hearts Erica Honore’s 10-year-old son Austin drowned on a boating trip with her husband on Father’s Day weekend in 2006. He left a lasting impact and Honore recently reminisced on his life on what would have been his 24th birthday.“I woke up looking at pictures smiling, remembering the times that I had with him,” said Honore. It was Honore’s older sister, Sharon Brubaker, who had to break the catastrophic news. “I was thinking I don't know anything about grief,” said Brubaker. “What are we going to do? What how am I going to help her? Because at that moment I thought I needed to fix her. I thought OK she's broken I need to help her.”The sisters ended up founding an educational program to learn how to navigate the grief and began helping others find their way through the pain. But in 2015, the family experienced another loss. Honore’s other son, Donovan, died in a motorcycle accident, two weeks shy of his 21st birthday. “The injustice of the fact that I had lost not only another child but my friend,” said Brubaker. “I fought against it. I tried to stuff the feelings. I tried to not. I pushed back against everything I knew to be true as a grief specialist.”Together, the sisters worked through another tragedy forming a new program around grief and loss. The program is offered to anyone over social media, podcasts and counseling sessions.“The most amazing thing that I think a lot of people don't understand,” said Brubaker. “Grief is not just for death. Grief is any loss that takes place in your heart.”Divorce, loss of a job or a broken relationship – all cause pain, the sisters say. “I have friends who've lost spouses and I thought this is not comparable,” said Tamra Mosse, a grief recovery program participant. For Mosse, the grief came from choosing to sever ties with her biological father. “I was grieving the loss of a father who's still alive,” said Mosse. It even includes losing someone you may not know personally. The death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant was a shock to millions. “I didn't know Kobe personally. Other than I live in L.A. but my heart was broken.”The sisters stress that it’s important to find a partner, one who will listen.“Just listen because it's through the talking and saying it out loud that they start to go OK their heart and their brain start to kind of line up,” said Honore. 2525

The family of retired FBI agent Robert Levinson says U.S. government officials have concluded that he has died while in the custody of Iran. The family says in a statement posted on Twitter that it did not have information about how or when Levinson had died, but it occurred before the recent coronavirus outbreak. The family says it “will spend the rest of our lives without the most amazing man, a new reality that is inconceivable to us.” Levinson disappeared on Iran's Kish Island in 2007 while on an unauthorized CIA mission.President Donald Trump was asked whether he was aware of the reports. He said Levinson's status "wasn't looking good," but did not accept reports that Levinson has died. 713

The first tropical system to slam the US this year is expected to make landfall as a hurricane. But days before landfall, it's already walloping New Orleans with widespread flooding. The National Hurricane Center predicts Tropical Storm Barry will form in the Gulf of Mexico by Thursday and strengthen to a hurricane by Saturday, when it's expected to make landfall in Louisiana. The tropical system has already spawned its first tornado warning and flash flood emergency, both in the New Orleans area.New Orleans resident Angela Catalano, whose house is already flooded, said she's worried about what's next."We took in about 2 feet of water in our basement/ground floor level," Catalano said. "I'm very concerned about the impending storm, with the Mississippi River near flood stage. I'm very worried about more flooding."Indeed, the worst is yet to come. Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards said about 10 to 15 inches of rain could fall within 24 hours between Friday and Saturday. Edwards declared a state of emergency Wednesday for all of Louisiana in preparation for the impact of the low-pressure system."That is a short time period for such an intense" rainfall, Edwards said.Even worse: The slow-moving storm is crawling at about 3 to 5 mph, the governor said. That means it could hover over the same place for long time, dumping rain relentlessly.Forecasters warned drivers to stay off flooded roads."A FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY has been issued for Jefferson Parish! 4 to 6 inches have already fallen and 2 - 3 more is anticipated," the National Weather Service's New Orleans office tweeted. "Please do not drive in flooded roads! Seek higher ground if flooding!"New Orleans City Hall closed Wednesday as the ferocious weather kept pounding the city."As always during hurricane season, residents are reminded to review emergency plans, gather emergency supplies, and stay informed," Mayor LaToya Cantrell's office said. "Hurricane preparedness information is available at 1987

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has made bold claims about the company's upcoming electric pickup. Now Ford, maker of America's most popular pickup truck, is already pushing back with a demonstration of what its planned electric F-150 could be capable of doing.Ford released video of a prototype electric F-150 towing a line of freight train cars weighing, according to Ford, over 1 million pounds. The truck, driven by F-150 chief engineer Linda Zhang, pulled the train for 1,000 feet. After that was done, Ford added train cars carrying 42 F-150 pickups -- one for every year that the Ford F-series has been the bestselling truck in America -- and Zhang pulled the train again. With the trucks, the train weight rose to 1.25 million pounds, according to Ford.Ford pointed out that this was a "one-time short event demonstration," in which the prototype was "towing far beyond any production truck's published capacity." Ford has not yet announced how much the production version of the truck will be capable of towing over long distances during day-to-day use.Ford did not say what sort of battery power, electric motors or gear ratios the prototype truck was using. In a podcast interview in June, 1198
