The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continues to warn against eating any romaine lettuce harvested from the central Coastal growing regions of Northern and Central California amid a multistate outbreak of E. coli illnesses linked to romaine lettuce. The agency also reported Thursday that nine additional people have been reported ill since November 26.Now, 52 people have been infected with E. coli in this outbreak, which was announced in October, according to the CDC.Illnesses have been reported in 15 states: California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Wisconsin.Nineteen people have been hospitalized, including two who developed hemolytic uremic syndrome, a type of kidney failure. The U.S. government is officially investigating Facebook.The Federal Trade Commission confirmed in a statement Monday that it is currently investigating Facebook data practices as the company faces new scrutiny from the Cambridge Analytica scandal."The FTC takes very seriously recent press reports raising substantial concerns about the privacy practices of Facebook," said Tom Pahl, acting director of the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection. The RV industry, like every other sector of the travel industry, took a hit in business at the start of the coronavirus pandemic.“April was down about 30 to 35%,” said Jim Bracking.Bracking is the manager of the Loveland RV Resort in Colorado.“For every reservation we were gettingm we were getting a couple of cancellations,” Bracking added.However, about a month after a slew of cancellations came in, things have started to pick up significantly.“Reservations are up quite a bit,” said Bracking. “If you have been in the office, you could see the reservation clerks are very busy.”Vacationers started rebooking road trips as soon as Colorado and other states started to reopen.“You just got to get some form of normalcy back and yet be safe. This is one of the only ways we know how to do it,” said Suzie Limppo, who is vacationing in an RV at Loveland RV Resort.RV resorts, RV parks, and RV rentals are seeing a bounce back across the country.“We are now up over 1,000 percent from where we were in April,” said Jon Gray with RVshare.RVshare rents RV to vacationers and it’s just one RV rental company that has seen dramatic increases in rentals.“There is a premium on keeping your distance. There’s a premium on driving to where you want to go instead of flying, because people are afraid to get on airplanes right now,” said Gray. “So, we thought those things benefitted our business, but we didn’t realize it benefitted it as much as it has. The woman who opened fire at YouTube headquarters Tuesday practiced shooting at a gun range hours before the attack, police said. She then took her 9 mm Smith & Wesson handgun to the Silicon Valley campus and shot three people she apparently didn't know, San Bruno police Chief Ed Barberini said.All this because Nasim Najafi Aghdam was upset with YouTube's practices and policies."We know she was upset with YouTube, and now we've determined that was the motive," Barberini said.Aghdam shot and wounded three people before killing herself. Two of her victims have been released from the hospital, and one remains in serious condition.Barberini said the shooter did not have a link or relationship with the three people she shot.  747
