According to officials with the Workforce Partnership, walk-ins won’t be accepted, however some services will be available by appointment only.“Our resources have always been available online, and actually the number one way people file for unemployment in or out of a public health emergency is online,” said Andrew Picard, chief program Officer at the San Diego Workforce Partnership.Picard said if people don't have a computer or internet access, don't worry, the phone still works. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Hundreds are getting tested for coronavirus before Thanksgiving hoping to keep their family safe. Medical experts say it's not necessarily going to work.The lines were hours long in front of a Linda Vista testing site, just as long at sites around the county Sunday."There's a worrisome reason for that, people are planning to go visit their older relatives and they think they're going to be 100% safe," Dr. Davey Smith, Chief of Infectious Diseases at UC San Diego said getting tested Sunday or any day leading up to Thanksgiving could give you a false negative."If I get tested now, it doesn't mean that I'm not infected, it just means that I'm not actively shedding the virus," Smith said.According to the CDC the incubation period for the virus is 2-14 days."I thought Halloween was going to be the scary part of the year but November, December, January are just going to be really tough I think. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Five people were injured following a crash in Kearny Mesa involving an ambulance Thursday afternoon. According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, the crash happened around 2:15 near Kearny Villa Road and Balboa Avenue. According to police, a preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of an Infinity was speeding in a northbound lane on Kearny Villa Road when he crossed into oncoming traffic, hitting the ambulance and shoving a Hyundai to the side of the road. The driver of the infinity suffered non-life threatening injuries while his passenger suffered several broken bones and internal injuries considered life threatening. The driver and passenger of the ambulance and driver of the Hyundai all suffered non-life threatening injuries. Everyone involved in the crash was taken to the hospital, police say. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Family members are offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest in the shooting death of Victor Vega.On May 28, 2016, San Diego Police officers responding to a shooting in the 8300 block of Brookhaven Road in the Skyline area found Vega lying on the street with gunshot wounds. Officers and medics began life-saving measures, but Vega died at the scene. 398

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — High surf forced the west wall at La Jolla's Children's Pool and Ocean Beach Pier closed Saturday.A high surf advisory was issued for the county's coast from Saturday to Sunday at 4 p.m. Surf is expected to peak Saturday with waves up to 10 feet possible along the county's coastline. Sunday, surf conditions are expected to hold through the day.Beachgoers were warned of strong rip currents and possible beach erosion during the surf event. Lifeguards asked that anyone heading to San Diego's beach hold off on water activities and watch the bluffs until the high surf passes.Because of the surf, San Diego Fire-Rescue lifeguards closed the Ocean Beach Pier on Friday just before 10 a.m. and were expected to keep the pier closed through at least Saturday morning.In La Jolla, lifeguards said the west wall of the Children's Pool was closed to visitors, as waves crashed over the barrier. 916
