(KGTV) -- Bay Area authorities are investigating the shooting death of one security officer and injuries to another after they were gunned down amid fiery protests in Oakland late Friday night.The shooting happened outside the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, a few blocks from where thousands of demonstrators where gathered.A statement from the FBI sent to Bay Area media said that at about 9:45 p.m., a vehicle approached the federal building and a gunman inside the car fired at the officers. The security officers are contracted by the Federal Protective Service of the Department of Homeland Security.The Mercury News reported that the Oakland Police Department said the shooting “is unrelated to tonight’s demonstration.”It’s unknown if police have any suspects in custody.FBI San Francisco and Oakland Police Department continue to investigate the shooting, KRON news reported.The incident happened as large groups of demonstrators clashed with police in downtown Oakland to protest the death of George Floyd. Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died after Derek Chauvin, a Minneapolis police officer, knelt on his neck until he passed out.ABC 7 News in San Francisco is reporting that 60 suspected looters were detained for further investigation and 18 people were arrested by Oakland police. At least six Oakland police officers and seven other members of law enforcement were injured, according to ABC 7 News. 1449

(KGTV) -- A large Hollywood-style Trump sign caught the attention of drivers in San Diego County throughout the day Wednesday.The massive sign could be seen along I-5 in the Del Mar area and comes just weeks after a similar sign was placed along the 405 freeway in the Sepulveda Pass.It’s unclear who placed the sign on the hillside or when it will be taken down.Watch video of the sign from Sky10 below:A similar incident happened in early October as drivers noticed an identical sign along the 405.That sign was taken down by Caltrans. The agency told the Los Angeles times the sign was erected on private property."This was a life and safety issue because there were concerns about distracted driving,'' Lauren Wonder, chief public information officer for Caltrans, told the Los Angeles Times regarding the incident earlier in the month. 848

(KGTV) - A new study claims Californians are dishing out extra cash due to the condition of the state's roads while supporters of an effort to repeal the gas tax slammed the study for neglecting to tell the whole truth. The study, conducted by TRIP, claims that driving on California roadways costs motorists statewide an estimated billion per year. The estimate is based on vehicle operating costs as a result of driving on rough roads, time and gas lost due to traffic, and the costs of traffic accidents.The study claims 64 percent of San Diego’s major roads and highways are in either poor or mediocre condition.When it comes to San Diego’s bridges, the study claims 64 of them are deemed structurally deficient and in need of improvement.Meanwhile, supporters of the gas tax repeal slammed the study as being a PR stunt by lawmakers to get more money out of California residents. “Don’t be fooled by a PR stunt by politicians of a few projects being approved in the middle of the Gas Tax Repeal campaign. Only a fraction of the existing gas tax goes to any road projects currently with the rest stolen and wasted by politicians. We could fix all of our roads if we simply allocated 100 percent of gas tax revenues to roads, but the politicians will never do that because this has never been about fixing roads, but rather getting more of your money," said Carl DeMaio, chairman of Yes on 6, a statewide effort to repeal the tax.  1486

(KGTV) — A bill that aims to end the retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits in California is heading to the state Senate.Assembly Bill 2152, known as "Bella’s Act," would prohibit the retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits, but still allow stores to partner with rescues and shelters for adoption events. The bill also stops pet stores from receiving any money from adoption transactions or from using the store or its resources in connection with adoption events.Assemblymember Todd Gloria, who introduced Bella's Act in February, said the bill is meant to crack down on those who got around the first attempt by the state."When we have animals in California who are still being bred and raised in unhealthy and inhumane conditions for profit, we cannot turn a blind eye," Gloria said in a release earlier this year. "Bella’s Act will fulfill our promise to end the inhumane puppy mill industry by officially prohibiting the retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits in California and encouraging pet retailers to partner with rescue groups and shelters. When the cup is empty, the boy on one side and the girl on the other side line up and share an innocent, intimate moment.But customers quickly realized that if you angle the cups the boy and girl are engaging in some very naughty behavior.Social media is now filled with the X-rated images.No comment from McDonald's which has not pulled the cups from its restaurants. 654
