The White House released official portraits of President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence Tuesday morning.According to an official press release from the White House, the portraits were produced by the Government Publishing Office. The photos will be distributed and displayed in the offices of federal agencies across the country.The walls of federal agencies have been a bit bare since Jan. 20, when former President Barack Obama's portrait was taken down in all federal agencies following the inauguration. The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected a challenge to a controversial Arkansas abortion law blocking medication-induced abortions.The law, passed in 2015, says that any physician who "gives, sells, dispenses, administers, or otherwise provides or proscribes the abortion-inducing drug" shall have to have a contract with a physician who has admitting privileges at a nearby hospital.The order, issued without comment, clears the way for the law to go into effect in mid-July if no other legal action is taken. Planned Parenthood is expected to make another challenge to the law in US district court."The Arkansas restriction, which was enacted supposedly to protect women's health, is medically unnecessary," lawyers for Planned Parenthood argued in court papers. The woman who gave President Donald Trump's motorcade the finger in late October is speaking out after she said she was fired for the incident that went viral.Juli Briskman, a former member of the marketing team at Akima LLC, was riding her bike as the presidential motorcade passed by, transporting Trump from his golf course back to the White House."My finger said what I was feeling," Briskman said. The summer season begins in Del Mar in less than a month, bringing with it a wealth of exciting events, but also a large influx of crowds and traffic.As one of the smallest cities in San Diego County, Del Mar has just about 4,000 people. But on any given day in the summer, more than 100,000 people could come to town. Within four months, the city hosts the San Diego County Fair, the Del Mar Horse Racing season, the Kaaboo concert weekend and also some of the busiest beaches in the area."That's part of the city's story, we're used to it," says long-time Del Mar resident Bettina Experton. "The Council knows how to handle it."The Del Mar City Council will meet Monday, May 7th, to discuss their plans for the 2018 season.They'll add ,000 to the budget for Sheriff's Department overtime. That helps put extra deputies on patrol to watch for petty theft, car break-ins and other small crimes near the beach. The city also adds lifeguards on busy weekends.To help defray the costs, parking is strictly enforced throughout the summer, with another officer added to patrol the meters. People have to pay for parking seven days a week in some areas, with meters going until 10 pm on weekends."We provide services for close to 5 million people a year," says Vice Mayor Dave Druker. "Somehow we need to pay a little bit of those services through our parking enforcement.
