A woman who was attacked by a jaguar at an Arizona zoo has apologized for the incident, according to a zoo spokeswoman.The woman returned to the Wildlife World Zoo in Litchfield Park following the attack and said she "feels horrible about the bad publicity the zoo is getting regarding the incident," spokeswoman Kristy Morcum said according to CNN affiliates KTVK and KPHO. "I saw the other girl up against the fence with her arm caught in the jaguar's claws."Wilkerson said he was standing behind the woman, but didn't want to pull her off. "I could see the claws in her actual flesh," he said.In an effort to distract the jaguar, Wilkerson said, his mother ran up behind him and shoved her water bottle through the cage. The bottle distracted the jaguar, and it let go of the victim."When my mom put the water bottle through the gate, the jaguar let go of the girl. And we pulled the girl back and she collapsed," he said.In a 911 call obtained by CNN, a zoo employee can be heard saying the woman's arm was in "pretty bad shape.""She's doing OK ... but her arm is like bad," the employee told the dispatcher. A scary situation in Seguin, Texas, came to a peaceful end when an off-duty police officer apprehended a man who was wearing a surgical mask, carrying a handgun and acting erratically.According to the Seguin Police Department, the officer approached Tony Dwayne Albert II on Sunday after concerned bystanders reported Albert for suspicious behavior. The officer noted that Albert was "wearing tactical style clothing, a surgical face shield, carrying a loaded firearm and extra ammunition."An SPD spokeswoman said Albert claimed he was headed to an unidentified church to fulfill what he called a "prophecy."Albert, 33, of Houston, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.He was being held Monday at the Guadalupe County Jail on a 0,000 bond, according to online records. An Amazon delivery driver was fired and arrested after police say she stole a dachshund from in front of a Texas couple's home and attempted to sell it online.The suspect, 22-year-old Mycah Keyona Wade, was in a Weatherford neighborhood on July 5 making deliveries as a contract driver for Amazon when she spotted the dog, Parker County Sheriff's Office Deputy Danie Huffman said.The dachshund, a 2-year-old named "RJ," had darted out of his home as his owners opened the door to go to the grocery store and ran across the front yard, Huffman said.Wade snatched the dog from the street in front of the home, Huffman said. A landscaper who reported having a conversation with the suspect about the dog and private security footage from the neighborhood helped police identify Wade.After a warrant was issued for her arrest, she turned herself in and initially denied she'd taken the dog.She later turned RJ over to investigators, who returned the dog to its original owners."This does not reflect the high standards we have for delivery service partners. We're glad the customer has been reunited with their pet, and we have been in touch with them to make it right. We take these matters seriously and these individuals are no longer delivering Amazon packages," Amazon said in a statement to CNN.Wade told police she asked landscapers where the dog came from but they were unable to tell her. A New Jersey teenager is proving that you can do anything if you just set your mind to it.Despite being in and out of homelessness, 17-year-old Dylan Chidick has been accepted into 17 different colleges -- and that's just what he's received so far."I was really excited because I'm going to be the first person in my family to go to college," Chidick said.He added, "Going through homelessness let me know that there's going to be obstacles, but as long as (our family is) together, we can get through it."With offers from schools like Albright College, Ramapo College and Caldwell University, Chidick has a tough decision ahead. However he's still waiting to hear back from his top choice, the College of New Jersey.He applied to about 20 colleges and universities in total. Sending in applications can get pricey, but Chidick was able to obtain application fee waivers.He was inspired by his mom's courageChidick's family moved to the US from Trinidad when Chidick was just 7 years old, but after becoming citizens, they endured countless heartaches.The single mother, Khadine Phillip, and her three kids were in and out of homelessness. And Chidick's two younger twin brothers live with serious heart conditions.Chidick said he was inspired by his mother's courage to reach out to the non-profit Women Rising and ask for help. The center put the family in permanent supportive housing, giving Chidick a safe place to study."Seeing my family become vulnerable and opening themselves up to accepting help is basically what created my drive to never experience that ever again," Chidick said.The student said experiencing homelessness and balancing school was difficult."There was lights out at a certain time, and we weren't able to be the way that we usually are at home," Chidick said.At school, Chidick was initially hesitant to let others know about his situation."The entire administration staff was very supportive, but I didn't want anyone to know about it at first," he said. "But I realized it was OK to let people in."Chidick worked to become the senior class president at Henry Snyder High School in Jersey City and was inducted into the Honor Society. He also served on the city-wide student council and said he tried to "float around" to every club.He hopes to study political science and historyAfter he picks his home for the next few years, Chidick hopes to major in political science and minor in history."I like the politics side of everything and understanding how the government works," Chidick said.History is his favorite subject, so he plans to take plenty of courses in that subject as well. 2628
