Country singer Chase Rice is facing criticism for playing a concert in Tennessee as COVID-19 cases continue to surge. Rice posted video on Instagram of his packed show at Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary, which is a music venue about three hours east of Nashville in Petros.People on social media pointed out the lack of masks and social distancing.Kelsea Ballerini was among those calling Rice out, tweeting in part: "Imagine being selfish enough to put thousands of people’s health at risk, not to mention the potential ripple effect, and play a NORMAL country concert right now." Imagine being selfish enough to put thousands of people’s health at risk, not to mention the potential ripple effect, and play a NORMAL country concert right now. @ChaseRiceMusic, We all want (and need) to tour. We just care about our fans and their families enough to wait. ?????♀? https://t.co/eJaLnGu28k— Kelsea Ballerini (@KelseaBallerini) June 28, 2020 The venue says it followed state guidelines, including reducing capacity from 10,000 to 4,000 and requiring temperature checks at the door. "The Great British Bake Off" judge Prue Leith took some heat after she revealed what went on in the kitchen.Leith accidentally announced the winner in a tweet hours before the finale aired on Tuesday. The tweet was hastily deleted and Leith tweeted an apology for the spoiler, explaining she was in a different time zone when she sent it out."I am so sorry to the fans of the show for my mistake this morning," her tweet read. "I am in a different time zone and mortified by my error #GBBO."But the incident had already left a bad taste in some viewers' mouths, especially coming on the heels of the furor over judge Mary Berry leaving and being replaced by Leith. The amateur baking competition is a cultural phenomenon both in the UK and abroad.Last year it was announced that the series was leaving the BBC for a new home on Channel 4.Soon after, hosts Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc and judge Berry announced they would be departing the show. The gaffe by Leith apparently didn't stop viewers from tuning in, however.According to The Guardian,"The programme attracted an overnight audience of 7.7 million, a 34.6% share of the audience and well above the average for the series before the final of 6 million."For those who missed Leith's tweet and were wondering, contestant Sophie Faldo won. 1303

"We are heartened to see Metro Nashville Public Schools take action to proactively protect immigrant students and their families. Over the past few months, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials have shown they will stop at nothing to strike fear in our communities and separate families in Nashville. Our schools are places where our children go to learn, grow, and thrive in a safe and welcoming environment. And, teachers guide, serve, and shape lives with empathy, professionalism, and commitment to education.Federal immigration enforcement has no place in Nashville schools or any school in Tennessee.Since 2008, Conexión Américas has partnered closely with Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS). Our 16 education program staff members and 13 volunteer parent facilitators serve as trusted resources and familiar faces for Nashville's immigrant students and families each day, from the time children enter MNPS at the Pre-K level through their college graduation. We reach 900 MNPS students and family members from 20 Metro Schools each year with our family engagement workshops, intensive case management services, and afterschool programming, and we collaborate with many more school leaders through professional development sessions and trainings. We proudly share space with 96 of Nashville's youngest students at the Casa Azafrán Early Learning Center, who light up the halls of Casa Azafrán with their energy and excitement.Conexión Américas' bilingual and bicultural team of educators stand ready to assist MNPS in the implementation of its policies to keep our public schools a welcoming place. We will work with our partners to uphold the Supreme Court’s Plyler v. Doe ruling, which declares that states cannot constitutionally deny students a free public education on account of their immigration status."This story was originally published by Rebekah Pewitt on 1899
(AP) - The U.S. Navy plans to use Xbox 360 controllers to operate periscopes aboard its newer submarines. The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, Virginia, reported Saturday that the Navy's Virginia-class subs don't have a traditional rotating periscope. They're being replaced by high-resolution cameras and large monitors. They can be controlled by a helicopter-style stick. But the Navy plans to integrate an X-box controller into the system because they're more familiar to younger sailors and require less training. They're also cheaper. A controller typically costs less than compared to the ,000 cost of a photonic mast handgrip and imaging control panel. The Xbox controller will be included as part of the integrated imaging system for Virginia-class subs beginning with the future USS Colorado. It is supposed to be commissioned by November 853
WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS says it’s now waiving charges for home delivery of prescription medications to help prevent the spread of the new coronavirus. “With the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention encouraging people at higher risk for COVID-19 complications to stay at home as much as possible, this is a convenient option to avoid coming to the pharmacy for refills or new prescriptions,” 408
