SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Officials with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation say Donovan State Prison officials confiscated a cell phone Tuesday from an inmate who was allegedly using the phone to harass and threaten a woman in New York.According to Christina Neal, 37-year-old Brandon Baker, a prisoner serving 75 years to life at Donovan in South San Diego County, contacted her nearly two weeks ago.“I started getting messages from someone named Brandon Baker, but I had never heard of him before,” Neal said. Neal says Baker found her on Facebook through mutual friends and family members and then began sending her inappropriate messages through Facebook messenger.“He put ‘ma, what’s up, you looking really good. I’d like to get to know you,’” Neal said. “and he was like, ‘you're really sexy.’ And I didn't respond. So then a couple of days later, I got another message from him, and he's talking about my daughter.” “So I was just like ‘I don't know who you are. I don't know how you got pictures of me and my daughter, but please leave me alone, I'm married, and I don't want to have anything to do with you,’” Neal added.Neal says the tone of the messages escalated and Baker told her he would be getting out next month.“He said he was gonna come to my house and said he was gonna rape me,” she said. “I’m very nervous, just because hearing what (he) did, (he) doesn’t seem like (he’s) that nice of a person.”CDCR says they are investigating the case, and Baker could face more punishment depending on what they find on the phone they seized.They released the following statement:“Contraband cellphones are often used to in criminal and illicit activities, conduct drug trafficking, enable gang communication, and harass and intimidate victims and witnesses. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Officials with Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar announced Saturday that a second Marine has tested positive for coronavirus.Capt. Matthew Gregory told 10News that the patient is currently being isolated and receiving medical support aboard the base."The air station is currently conducting a thorough contact investigation to determine who may have had contact with the Marine and notify them of the situation," officials said.The identity of the Marine is being withheld due to privacy restrictions, but Gregory said the Marine resides on base and was not on leave."The Marine self-reported to the Miramar medical clinic with symptoms and was ultimately transferred to Naval Medical Center San Diego for testing," said Gregory.The news comes after it was reported Thursday that a Marine stationed at MCAS Miramar had tested presumptive positive for coronavirus after returning from leave in Washington state. The patient was visiting family which is where officials believe he contracted the virus, officials on base familiar with the matter told 10News.Both cases are currently in isolation and being quarantined in an empty barracks that was designated to treat potential cases of Covid-19, according to Gregory. "Both are fine and doing well," said Gregory.MCAS Miramar is one of four bases outside of California used as quarantine sites for individuals returning from overseas, including U.S. citizens that were evacuated from Wuhan last month and passengers aboard the Grand Princess cruise ship that was brought to Oakland last week. The quarantined passengers are being treated by staff with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.Neither of the two infected Marines had any contact with the cruise ship passengers, according to Gregory.Gregory noted that MCAS Miramar officials had taken measures earlier this week to prepare for potential cases. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Once election results start to come in, some of the races could be so close to call that they could lead to legal battles in court. Eugene Volokh, a constitutional law professor at UCLA, explained that it is likely some races could be so close that we won't know the results for a few days, maybe even weeks. When it comes to the presidential race, Volokh said that if the results are a landslide, the likelihood of legal challenges are close to none. If it's a tight race, Volokh said we could see litigation in states where it is just too close to call. Recounts are also possible, but the professor said that it wouldn't be a national recount; instead, it would only focus on the states that have tight races. Across the country, there have already been some legal battles. In Houston, a federal judge refused to invalidate nearly 127,000 drive-thru mail-in ballots following a lawsuit filed by a group of Republicans. In Nevada, a judge rejected another GOP lawsuit aiming to stop early voting over signature-matching software and observers when votes are being counted. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — More than 32 years after a double murder in Ramona, the suspected shooter has been arrested.San Diego Sheriff's Department says the deadly shooting occurred just before midnight on June 7, 1987, at a Ramona apartment on B Street, just behind Main St. Witnesses told deputies a family was having a birthday party for their four-year-old daughter when one of the guests, 27-year-old Jose Angel Solorio, got into an argument with several people.Solorio left the party angry but returned to the apartment with a gun and shot three men, identified as German Aviles, Ventura Aviles, and Carlos Holgin. German and Ventura Aviles did not survive the shooting.RELATED: 35-year-old cold case murder linked to San Diego manAfter the shooting, deputies learned that Solorio had fled to Mexico.It wasn't until April 2002 when Solorio appeared back on the radar for authorities. Homicide detectives located a family member in Texas who said she had contact with Solorio about two years prior and he was still in Mexico.FBI and U.S. Marshals Service continued working the case and in March 2019, Solorio was finally located and detained in Mexico.Friday, Solorio was extradited to San Diego and jailed on two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
