Now, Baby Yoda is sharing the force with firefighters around the western U.S. and bringing smiles to thousands of fans.Carver told his grandmother he wanted to do something to help those on the front lines of the deadly wildfires. She heard of a donation drive helping firefighters and took Carver shopping to buy items to donate, according to CNN.Carver focused in on a Baby Yoda doll, so he sent it off in the care package with a note telling the firefighters, “here is a friend for you, in case you get lonely,” according to posts in a Facebook group dedicated to the doll’s adventures. 778

Florida Gov. Ron Desantis signed a bill into law Wednesday requiring school districts and charter schools to increase the minimum base salary for full-time classroom teachers to at least ,500.Previously, Florida was ranked 26th in the country for beginning teacher pay. Now, it's among the top five, DeSantis said."I think its definitely going to keep a lot of teachers in the profession and also motivates new ones to come into it," said Garrett Kent, a seventh-grade math teacher at Oak Hammock K-8 School in Port St. Lucie.Kent said the state's new benchmark for teacher pay is a dream come true."It's life-changing," said Kent. "I mean, most teachers don't join for the money, but this just adds to the motivation to help educate the students."State Rep. Toby Overdorf, R-Palm City, whose district covers Martin and St. Lucie counties, was one of several authors of the bill.He said the money is now in place for school districts to negotiate with teacher's unions."The reality is that this is laid out, not only as a benchmark, ,500, but also, it's great recognition and allowing those individual school districts to make a choice with their teachers as to what kind of raises they're going to be getting," said Overdorf.Overdorf said districts that already have a starting pay higher than ,500 will also likely see an increase and that the state of Florida is now in an excellent position to bring the best teachers back."Some of the best and brightest have gone to teach elsewhere because, frankly, they weren't able to get that living salary that recognizes the job that they do," said Overdorf. "Florida has now laid that down. Ron DeSantis says he’s concerned about the accuracy of COVID-19 test results.In a news conference Monday, he said there have been several cases where people received positive results, even though they had never been tested in the first place.“For that to come back positive, when there was no specimen submitted, is problematic. So I’ve heard it enough to be concerned about it," said DeSantis.People have said they submitted their contact information at a COVID-19 testing site, but after seeing how long the line was, they decided not to wait an hour or more to get the test. Nevertheless, a few days later, they got an email or a phone call telling them that they tested positive.Representatives at the Centurylink Sports Complex testing site say false positives aren’t possible there, because of how they have it set up.The Florida Department of Health says, at Centurylink, you submit your contact information right before you get tested. So if somebody were to get out of line, they wouldn’t have had the chance to hand over their phone number or email.But not all testing sites are the same.We reached out to Lee Health, which operates several testing sites of its own. Those sites operate by appointment only, and they do take contact info beforehand, but Lee Health says it has not yet had any issues with mixed up results, and it takes several steps to make sure the results get to the right person.The health system says its sites verify the patient’s identity when they arrive. Then, the person who conducts the test signs and dates each specimen.
