The new study is the most extensive work yet on the immune system’s response to the virus and is good news for efforts to develop vaccines. Over the phone, a Costco employee in Santee told 10News that more than 1,500 seniors showed up on Tuesday and the store hasn't been that busy since Christmas or Thanksgiving. (KGTV) — San Marcos is taking a stricter stance on pet control.A newly passed ordinance allows the city to label people “irresponsible pet owners” and levy harder penalties.The city or the San Diego County Humane Society can impound the animals of people who are declared “irresponsible owners” under the ordinance and ban hem from owning any animals for up to three years.According to the rules, an “irresponsible owner” is an individual who has received three of more citations in the last two years for an unrestrained animal, guard dog, dangerous animal or nuisance violation.Dangerous animals per the ordinance are those that have attacked a person or another domestic animal two times within four years, or have injured or killed a person once within four years. 795

Segway says it will end production of its namesake two-wheeled personal transporter, popular with tourists and police officers but perhaps better known for its high-profile crashes. The company, founded in 1999 by inventor Dean Kamen, will retire the Segway PT on July 15. The company said 21 employees will be laid off. SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — A grandfather accused in the fatal fall of his young granddaughter from an 11th-story window of a cruise ship docked in Puerto Rico last year has pleaded guilty to negligent homicide.Salvatore Anello of Valparaiso, Indiana, earlier said he would drop a not-guilty plea to help end what he called “this nightmare" for his family.Chloe Wiegand, an 18-month-old, slipped from Anello’s grasp and fell about 150 feet from an open window of Royal Caribbean Cruises’ Freedom of the Seas ship in July 2019.Anello, 51, has repeatedly said he is colorblind and did not know the window in the children's play area was open when he lifted Chloe up so she could bang on the glass, WRTV reports.Chloe's parents filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Royal Caribbean Cruises in December 2019, claiming the company violated industry standards by failing to provide reasonably safe windows in an area where children play on the ship.In response, Royal Caribbean filed court documents alleging that Anello was “unquestionably aware” that the window was open because video shows him leaning out of it right before he picked Chloe up and dangled her from it.The documents filed by Royal Caribbean claim Anello's actions were captured on two separate video surveillance cameras, which were previously unreleased. The cruise ship has now submitted those videos to the court in response to the lawsuit filed against them.Puerto Rico prosecutor Laura Hernández said Thursday that Anello would be sentenced on Dec. 10. 1530
