In the wake of the deadly school shooting in Florida last week, one gun shop owner has decided to act, and will no longer sell AR-15 rifles to people under age 21."I changed policy yesterday. So to buy a long gun, including an AR, you have to be 21 years old," Jason Cazes, from Washington state, told HLN's Carol Costello.Legally, people can buy rifles at 18 years old in Washington, just like in Florida. But you have to be 21 to buy a pistol."I would like to be proactive rather than reactive because the reactive solutions that we come up with don't work," Cazes said, explaining why he's not waiting for legislation to pass.Seventeen people were killed last Wednesday in a shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. It was the ninth-deadliest shooting in modern US history.Nikolas Cruz, 19, confessed to the shooting and is suspected to have obtained at least 10 firearms, all of them rifles.Investigators are trying to track the purchases, which Cruz appears to have made in the past year or so, according to a source briefed on the investigation.These are the victims of the Florida school shootingCazes, who is originally from Louisiana, told Costello he's lived on both sides of the political spectrum and believes that raising the age limit on AR-15s is a solution that both sides will accept."Currently the handgun age is 21. So I would say let's meet in the middle and say let's get this age thing fixed. And put it into a bill."A firm supporter of the right to bear arms, Cazes made clear that the bill he's proposing should not touch ARs, which are legal, or high-capacity magazines.He told Costello he keeps an AR-15 in the trunk of his car."That's my weapon of choice for defending myself and my family," he said, adding, "There's no button we can push magically to get rid of all guns. In the span of less than 24 hours, Delta strengthened from a tropical storm into a power category 4 hurricane with its sights set on the Yucatan Peninsula.Moments after reporting Delta had become a major hurricane Tuesday morning, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said that the storm had strengthened further into category 4 status. According to a reading from a Hurricane Hunter aircraft, Delta has maximum sustained winds of 130 mph, as of Tuesday at 10 p.m. CT. The storm's top winds dropped slightly from 145 MPH.The NHC says Delta will bring "extremely dangerous storm surge" and other hurricane-like conditions to the Yucatan throughout the day Tuesday before briefly making landfall on Wednesday. The Yucatan Peninsula is home to many Mexican resort towns, including Cancún and Playa del Carmen. Belize, a coastal country on the southern part of the peninsula, may also feel effects from Delta.While the NHC notes that there is "large uncertainty in track and intensity forecasts," Delta is currently expected to make landfall on the Louisiana coastline as a hurricane late in the week. Current forecasts have Delta making landfall anywhere from western Louisiana to the western Florida panhandle on early Saturday morning.Louisiana has taken the brunt of the impact of the 2020 hurricane season. Hurricanes Marco and Laura have already made landfall in the state, causing inland flooding and significant damage along the coast. INDIANAPOLIS -- Two people were arrested early Friday morning after they broke into a house and someone in the home held them at gunpoint, police say.The incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. in the 5000 block of Clemens Place. Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department say the home was burglarized in the overnight hours Wednesday into Thursday by the same two suspects. Both the male and female suspects were arrested without further incident and police are investigating.    535

But in an unexpected twist, the couple and the homeless man are charged with making up the story in a scheme to get money.“[This] highlights the promise and the peril of these sites,” says Anna Laitin, with Consumer Reports. “These incredible stories come out; people really touched by this and obviously wanted to help, wanted to give money. Now it's not clear the story was true.”The website GoFraudMe tracks scams on personal crowdfunding sites and has found more than 200 cases in the past five years.Consumer Reports admits it can be a challenge to know if you're giving to a legitimate cause.“It’s really hard. You really have to read carefully and think,” Laitin says. “And maybe give to ones where you know the person personally or you know somebody who can vouch for it, because otherwise you can get caught up especially in these viral ones.”Also, pay attention to how much money is needed and how much has already been donated.
