SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County schools are one step closer to bringing students back to campus. If we get off the state’s watchlist Friday, kids would be allowed back in-person in as soon as two weeks.But, some districts tell ABC 10News they would still need more time.Supervisor Nathan Fletcher hinted at a victory for the county Thursday afternoon.“Yesterday we were below the state guidance, today we’re below the state guidance,” said Fletcher. “Tomorrow if we’re below the state guidance that will remove us from the state monitoring list.”RELATED: San Diego County case rate under watch list threshold for second straight dayThose metrics are based on having fewer than 100 cases per 100,000 residents over two weeks. If we can stay off the watch list for 14 days in a row after being removed from the state's list, students will be allowed back on school campuses.But, that doesn’t mean it will happen right away.“All of us have been watching those numbers,” said Theresa Kemper, Superintendent at Grossmont Union High School District. “When it finally went under 100, there’s a celebration because we look forward to getting kids back.”RELATED: Private school in Spring Valley to reopen with in-person learningKemper says they plan to give parents and teachers a two-week notice before they would return in-person.“Classrooms are already ready to go, but it’s all the other services we provide,” said Kemper. “Are the buses ready to go? Food service?”For Cajon Valley Union Schools, the district says they successfully welcomed 6,000 students to 27 of their campuses for summer programs. Social distancing and mask requirements were in place. They tell us over the six-week period they did not have a single case of COVID-19.Superintendent David Miyashiro says even if the county can welcome students back, they would still need time to prepare.“To say we’d be able to open right away, I don’t feel comfortable with that,” said Miyashiro. “The short answer is as soon as possible starting with our most vulnerable students.”San Diego Unified says they’re using their own criteria that goes beyond the state standards. It calls for rigorous contact tracing before they’ll reopen in-person.Escondido Union High School District starts a fully virtual school year on Aug. 25. They tell ABC 10News they’ll continue online learning through the first grading period that ends on Sept. 25. They say they’ll reassess current conditions after that. 2459

Refrigerator and freezer doors should also be kept closed and all unnecessary lighting should be turned off, health and safety permitting.The company suggested customers also reduce their water use due to the need for electricity to pump and process water. For electric vehicle owners, charging should be delayed if possible until after the emergency shutoffs, SDG&E said.SDG&E offers more safety tips to keep in mind during an outage here.Friday marked the first time since 2011 that California has ordered rolling power outages.According to SDG&E, the Flex Alert until Monday night was issued earlier to warn people to conserve energy, but because there wasn't enough energy conserved the state decided to issue rolling outages.SDG&E added that San Diego County's backcountry and rural areas will not be affected in the foreseeable future because they are high fire risk areas. A recent study from HotPads, a Zillow-owned site, says San Diegans can pay ,270 per year in overlooked costs and fees that come with moving. The includes security and pet deposits, pet rent and parking. The biggest chunk comes from the security deposit, which is typically one month's rent. In all, it works out to an additional 6 per month. "As rent prices continue to rise and rent affordability remains a concern, it is important for renters to consider all their potential expenses before planning a move," said Joshua Clark, economist at HotPads. "There's all kinds of things they might charge you for at move-in, so you want to be sure to check before you sign anything," she said. Steingrebe focuses largely on downtown, renting out privately owned condos. She says some buildings even require tenants hire move-in coordinators to make sure things go smoothly and not disturb other residents. Renters don't pay the HOA directly, but landlord's can pass along any sort of fines or violations they commit. "Unauthorized moves, these buildings downtown, you can't just walk in with your couch, you have to schedule it," Steingrebe said, adding dumping trash inappropriately can also lead to fines. The biggest financial issues that arise for renters come at the end of a lease, when it comes to getting a security deposit refunded, Steingrebe said. She said the best defense is to document with photos and text any damage or issues that occur throughout the year, starting with an initial move-in inspection. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County was officially added to California's "monitoring list" as the number of coronavirus cases across the state increases, and Gov. Gavin Newsom said he expected local health officials to comply with specific orders that include the closure of indoor dining spaces.As of Monday afternoon, San Diego County joined five other counties on the monitoring list. The other counties added to the list: Colusa, Madera, Marin, Merced, and Monterey.Of the state’s 58 counties, 23 of them are on the state’s list.Ahead of the Fourth of July weekend, Newsom ordered counties that have been on the list for at least three days to shutter indoor operations at businesses such as restaurants, wineries, movie theaters, zoos, museums and cardrooms.In a tweet on his Twitter account, Newsom said:"CA is now asking Colusa, Madera, Marin, Merced, Monterey & San Diego to close indoor operations for:-Restaurants-Wineries-Movie theaters-Zoos, museums-CardroomsBars must close ALL operations."During his Monday news conference, Newsom said he was awaiting an order from local health officials in each of the newly-added counties to issue an order enacting the measures, which are expected to remain in effect for at least three weeks.Counties on the list were also ordered to close all of its bars, a move San Diego County had already taken ahead of the holiday weekend. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police arrested a man who tried to rob a downtown bank Saturday.Police said a 34-year-year old white man entered the Chase Bank on West Broadway and handed a note to a teller saying that he was robbing the bank shortly before 3 p.m. The teller was able to keep the suspect inside the bank until San Diego Police arrived on the scene. Police took the empty-handed suspect into custody without incident as he was walking out of the bank. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.  585
