BEIJING, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- China's anti-graft chief He Guoqiang on Tuesday urged discipline and supervision authorities to press ahead with the building of a clean government and strengthened efforts in corruption prevention.     He, secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said in a meeting that efforts should be made to handle people's complaints and embrace innovation in the establishment of anti-corruption mechanism.     He asked discipline and supervision authorities to combat extravagance, intensify crackdown on the practice of "small coffer", which refers to fund, securities and assets that should be but fail to be listed into the account books of CPC and government organizations in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.     He also called for authorities to make public Party affairs, especially at grassroots organizations, and investigate and prosecute corruption cases.     Efforts should be made to expand channels for the general public to be involved in anti-corruption endeavor, said He, who is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

HUA HIN, Thailand, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- With a delighted and relieved smile, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao waved to the crowd on Sunday at the airport in Thai resort Hua Hin before he left for home.     The premier has successfully finished his visit to Thailand after attending a series of summit meetings related to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) during the past three days. BEIJING, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- China-U.S. relationship that by large was entering a period where our focus would be more and more on global issues, said U.S. Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman on Friday.     Huntsman made the remarks at the Forum for America/China Exchange at Stanford (FACES) in Peking University, a top university in China.     "Obama arrived and found what he had hoped for," he said relating to the U.S. President's just concluded China visit after reviewing the bilateral link chronicle.     U.S. and China could strengthen cooperation in areas including military, people to people exchanges, climate change, clean energy and economic crisis, Huntsman told the delegates attending the forum.     He said the U.S.-China relationship was so "large and complicated" that managers of the relations should "take the areas of commonality" and "realize and speak open" about the disagreements.     Huntsman, who once lived in Taiwan and could speak Chinese called Chinese the "21st century language", saying diplomacy is ineffective without "investing a generation of professionals willing to invest their careers in turn in language, culture, regional studies."     FACES, a forum held in Beijing from Nov.15-20, gathered more than forty students from China and the U.S to discuss political, social, economic and cultural issues.

BEIJING, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao will meet here Wednesday with US President Barack Obama, who is on his first state visit to China since his January inauguration.     They will have a working lunch before Obama's sightseeing visit to the Great Wall in the north suburb of the Chinese capital, which will be another chance for the US head of state, who toured the Imperial Palace Tuesday, to learn more about the ancient Chinese civilization.     Obama will conclude his fist visit to China and fly to the Republic of Korea, the last leg of his four-state Asian tour, in the afternoon.     He arrived in China's economic hub Shanghai Sunday night to kick off this visit as guest of his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao.     Hu held talks with him in Beijing on Tuesday and they met international reporters for about 40 minutes after the talks, both pledging to further bilateral ties.     Top Chinese legislator Wu Bangguo also met Obama on Tuesday, several hours before a state banquet in the Great Hall of the People in downtown Beijing.     In a joint statement issued on Tuesday, the two sides spoke highly of the tremendous development achieved since the two countries established diplomatic relations 30 years ago and reached consensus on further bilateral ties. 

BEIJING, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- China and the United States agreed here Tuesday to further collaboration to jointly research in the health sector and in the control of diseases, especially pandemics, according to a joint statement issued after the talks between Chinese President Hu Jintao and visiting U.S. President Barack Obama.     The joint research will include that on stem cells. Both sides will deepen cooperation on global public health issues, including the prevention, surveillance, reporting and control of the A/H1N1 influenza, avian influenza, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria, said the statement.     The two sides will also enhance cooperation on food and product safety and quality, it added.
