The Sarasota (Fla.) County School District confirmed they are looking into a racially offensive promposal that was posted to social media.A spokesperson for the district confirmed the Riverview High School senior posted a picture that they worry will be a disruptor to the school and student safety. The post made to Snapchat reads, "If I was Black I'd be picking cotton, but I'm white so I'm picking U 4 Prom?"The district said they have not concluded if the 18-year-old will be banned from prom as it's an ongoing investigation. Sarasota County Schools also said they sent a text alert to parents Monday morning about the situation and that they plan to have more information late Monday. The student, who Scripps station WFTS in Tampa is not identifying, also posted an apology to social media. The following message was sent to parents and students on Monday morning:  930

The Trump administration issued an order on Friday that will attempt to ban Americans from downloading Chinese-owned social media apps TikTok and WeChat beginning Sunday.The order issued by Commerce Department Sec. Wilbur Ross, requires companies like Apple and Google to remove the apps from their online stores by Sunday. However, the order says that messaging on the apps "could be directly or indirectly impaired” by the order.In the case of TikTok, the order stipulates that its parent company, ByteDance, has until Nov. 12 to "resolve" its national security concerns. ByteDance has been in talks to sell its American business with U.S. software company Oracle.Privacy experts have raised concerns about both Chinese-owned apps, saying Americans' personal information could fall into the hands of the Chinese government. In August, Trump signed an order that set a Sept. 20 deadline for the sale of TikTok's U.S. business."Each collects vast swaths of data from users, including network activity, location data, and browsing and search histories," the Commerce Department's order reads. "Each is an active participant in China’s civil-military fusion and is subject to mandatory cooperation with the intelligence services of the CCP. The University of Iowa ticket office says they are suspending ticket sales for the upcoming football season.In a statement on their ticket website, school officials said that those who renewed their season tickets and paid their per-seat contributions by June 30 would be included in any potential seating plans for Kinnick Stadium.The university also announced that the Hawkeye Express would not operate for the upcoming season because of the potential of reduced capacity.“Hawkeye fans are excited about the upcoming season, and we appreciate their continued enthusiasm and support,” said Henry B. and Patricia B. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says that Sunshine Mills, Inc. has expanded its voluntary recall on dog food to include more products.The products were produced between April 3-5, 2020, and contain an unsafe level of aflatoxin, a toxin produced by the mold Aspergillus flavus, and at high levels, cause illness and death in pets, the FDA said.The products were recalled after a sample contained an unsafe level of aflatoxin was found by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry.The products include Family Pet Meaty Cuts, Heartland Farms, Champ, Field Trial, and Good Dog, distributed across the U.S. at retail stores.If you purchased any of the recalled items, the FDA says that you stop using them, throw them out, or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.You can check to see if your product has been recalled by clicking here. 875
