She also says it's important to appoint a healthcare proxy, clearly putting a spouse or family member in charge of your medical care. It’s something that has become more important now than ever as many hospitals are barring visitors because of COVID-19.“It’s one less source of stress in a very tough time,” she said.Nationwide, only about 30 percent of couples have any kind of living will.That now includes Dorean and Adam Neale, who fully admit a pandemic pushed them to plan for the inevitable.“For me, the peace of mind was checking the box on something you were supposed to do and something that you should do,” said Dorean Neale. 1841

Animal rescue workers say nearly 600 dogs were rescued from deplorable conditions in Tennessee. Now, dog rescue groups in the midwest are stepping in to help the animals get back to health. Battling multiple infections and numerous medical needs, the recently rescued Dachshunds and Shar Peis were taken from an alleged puppy mill in Madison County, Tennessee. A rescue group, Guardians of Rescue, posted on Facebook they were part of the 11-month-long investigation into the location. In Detroit, animal rights advocates, including Emily Seward from Dachshund Haus Rescue, have already stepped up to care for the animals."They were, and continue to be, in pretty rough shape," Seward said. For her, it's simply unimaginable how someone could neglect dogs so badly, and police say behind a 10-foot-tall privacy fence, the dogs had to face extreme abuse for a decade.Police say the dog owners who were selling them as part of a business had already been accused of abuse and neglect years ago.As investigators crack down on those behind the illegal operation, the dogs are now finally being given the attention they deserve after being rescued over the weekend.The rescued dogs are not available for adoption now, and are considered evidence in a criminal case. 1268

American Airlines says it is suspending travel to 15 small cities across the country for at least a month as COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc on the airline travel industry.In a press release, American said it was suspending service to certain smaller markets as airline stimulus aid provided by the CARES Act is set to expire.American says the suspended travel is only effective between Oct. 7 and Nov. 3, but offered no guarantees that it would restore service to the cities afterward.Since the COVID-19 pandemic reached the United States, demand for air travel has plummeted. The Associated Press reported earlier this week that air travel is down more than 85% between 2019 and 2020. Another classic movie from the 1980s is getting a remake.The Hollywood Reporter reports that Zac Efron would star in the remake of "Three Men and a Baby" for Disney+.The 1987 movie that starred Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, and Ted Danson, is about three bachelors living together in New York when an infant baby girl arrives at their doorstep.Variety reports that a script for the remake has already been written.Efron will return to Disney after starring in Disney's "High School Musical" series in 2006. 515
