BEIJING, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Britain has opened a "golden era" of bilateral relations and a new chapter of China-West exchanges, said Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Over 70 years ago, facing the scourge of fascism, China and the United States joined each other in the just cause for peace and, standing alongside other peace loving countries in the world, won the victory in the war that determined the future of mankind.
"Due to differences in social systems and ideologies between China and Western countries, the bilateral relationship is tarnished by some noises, or even disturbances and sabotage."
He noted that China will push ahead with the "Belt and Road" initiative and welcome all countries, including the United States, to take part in the process.
China is willing to work with the DPRK to maintain high-level exchanges and political communication, promote economic and trade cooperation, enhance people-to-people exchanges and intensify collaboration in regional and international affairs so as to better serve the two nations and their peoples and to play a constructive role in safeguarding regional peace and stability, Liu stressed.
