Scott and Pascale Rail say they love what they do and found ways to serve their customers through the pandemic. Bernie Sanders' son is running for Congress in New Hampshire.Levi Sanders, 48, said in a statement first reported by WMUR and since posted on his campaign website that he is entering the open-seat race to replace retiring Democratic Rep. Carol Shea-Porter."This is a unique opportunity to listen to the hard working men and women of New Hampshire about the issues that matter to them," he said.The New Hampshire 1st District is one of the nation's most competitive open-seat races in 2018's midterms.Unlike his father, who ran as an independent in Vermont, Sanders is running as a Democrat. He'll be the eighth Democratic candidate to enter the race.Sanders lives in Claremont, New Hampshire, which is outside the 1st District. Members of the US House must live in the state they are running in, but are not required to live in the district.Sanders said in the statement he's worked in Massachusetts as a legal services analyst for 17 years."For 15 years, New Hampshire has been my family's home," he said.Sanders' platform largely mirrors his father's. (KGTV) - A fire broke out Friday afternoon in Valley Center, threatening the small north San Diego County community.The flames were reported about 1:30 p.m. in brush near Miller Lane and Cole Grade Lane, an area surrounded by farms and homes. Two young brothers in Peoria, Arizona, are hoping to bring smiles to COVID-19 patients by sending homemade cards to Valley hospitals.Hurshneet and Pravneet Chadha said they created "Project Smile AZ" to spread positivity. They got the idea after listening to their parents, who are both doctors, speak about COVID-19 patients going through treatment alone in hospitals."We wanted to make them feel accompanied on their journey to get better," said 15-year-old Hurshneet. "We want to make sure everyone is fine, and we want to make sure everyone is happy."When they started, they delivered 150 cards to Banner Health. The response was so great that they decided to keep going."We've had many people reach out to us to send cards to our PO box, as well as hospital CEOs have reached out to us, sending us thank you letters to our email so that made us very proud," he said.Now, they've distributed 1,200 cards to the Navajo Nation, Circle the City, a nonprofit, and several hospitals in the Valley."It helps the patients when we give it to them, and they're saying they put a smile on their faces when they receive them as well, so that's my favorite part," said 12-year-old Pravneet.Through social media, they've gotten classmates and other groups to donate cards, but they make most of them in their living room."We come up with anything that we think would inspire the patient," said Hurshneet. Unique hardly describes the lawsuit Scarlett Watts and her attorney recently filed in Florida federal court.Scarlett Watts said she was only days late on her house payment when her mortgage company called looking for their money.  Watts describes the exchange between her and the debt collector as tense but nothing more. Later that day she received a string of obscene text messages.The texts called Watts vulgar names and mentioned her late bill not once but twice.She called the mortgage company and they denied any wrongdoing on behalf of their employee.Attorney Billy Howard has filed a harassment suit on Watt’s behalf against the lender based on Florida and federal law that makes it illegal for a debt collector to harass a borrower on their cell phone.Next Howard plans to subpoena phone records to determine if the texts may have come from a company phone or an employee's phone.Watts says she decided to take legal action to teach the texter a lesson and hopefully collect a few thousand dollars. Victims of debt collection harassment can sue for between 0 and 00 per call or text.Scripps station WFTS in Tampa reached out to the lender four times for a comment. They have yet to respond. 1233
