(KGTV) — Disneyland and California Adventure have announced that both theme parks will close starting Saturday through the end of March amid the coronavirus outbreak.While there have been no reported cases at either theme park, both locations were being closed "in the best interest of our guests and employees," following Gov. Newsom’s office, the free CA Notify system “will help reduce the transmission of COVID-19.” Californians can opt into the digital tool “to receive COVID-19 notifications informing them if they have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for the virus,” Newsom’s office said.Officials confirmed CA Notify is “a completely private, anonymous and secure tool that does not collect location data from any device and never shares user identities.”iPhone users can enable CA Notify by going to Settings, and then to Exposure Notifications. From there, users will have the option to Turn On Exposure Notifications. Users will then choose United States, followed by California.Android device users who want to be notified will have to download the CA Notify app from the Google Play store.How CA Notify functions, according to state officials:“When individuals voluntarily activate CA Notify, the tool uses Bluetooth technology to exchange random codes between phones without revealing the user’s identity or location.If a CA Notify user tests positive for COVID-19, they will receive a verification code to plug into the app, if they choose. Any other CA Notify users who have been within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more of the COVID-19 positive individual will get an anonymous notification of possible exposure.CA Notify will accelerate how quickly people get notified of a possible COVID-19 exposure, giving people the information they need to make responsible decisions around quarantine and testing.Users who have tested positive for COVID-19 will get a text from the California Department of Public Health at 855-976-8462 with a code which they can enter into CA Notify triggering an alert to phones of people who may have been exposed in the previous 14 days.”The CA Notify system began this fall as a pilot program at UC San Diego and UC San Francisco. 2011

The platform promises to deliver gamers instant access to games on TV, mobile devices, or desktop computers in resolutions up to 4K and 60 frames per second."When players use Stadia, they'll be able to access their games at all times, and on virtually any screen," the company said in a release. (KGTV) - A man identified as the son of San Diego convicted sex offender Matthew Hedge was arrested on child molestation charges Wednesday. 34-year-old Shaun Crocker, born as Shaun Hedge, is suspected of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department."Crocker knew the 13-year-old victim and at this time no other victims have come forward," officials said.He is being held on million bail and is due in court Thursday.Crocker has a history of at least 15 criminal arrests in San Diego and Texas dating back to 2003. None of the accusations were linked to sexual conduct; Crocker was arrested on suspicion of fraud, burglary, and taking a vehicle for a joyride, among other reported crimes. The alleged victim's mother said Crocker is Matthew Hedge's son.Matthew Hedge was convicted in 1989 of molesting two girls and two boys in San Diego. He was treated at a state hospital and released to San Diego County in 2005. Hedge was originally placed on the grounds of Donovan State Prison in Otay Mesa but returned to the hospital less than a year later after admitting he spoke to girls and had a deviant fantasy about a child. After his second release, restrictions on where Matthew Hedge was allowed to live were lifted and he moved to a downtown residential hotel with his wife. 1343

Gavin Newsom and his family are in quarantine, after they learned that three of their children was recently exposed to a California Highway Patrol officer who had tested positive for COVID-19.Newsom said late Sunday that he and his family were isolating for 14 days following the exposure. Newsom said he and his wife, Jennifer, had no direct interaction with the officer.He added that on Sunday, his family had all tested negative."Late Friday evening, [Jennifer] and I learned that 3 of our children had been exposed to an officer from the California Highway Patrol who had tested positive for COVID-19. Jen and I had no direct interaction with the officer and wish them a speedy recovery," Newsom said in a statement on social media. "Thankfully, the entire family tested negative today. However, consistent with local guidance, we will be quarantining for 14 days. We are grateful for all the officers that keep our family safe and for every frontline worker who continues to go to work during this pandemic."Newsom's spokesperson, Nathan Click, had said on Friday that one of the Newsom's children may have been exposed to the virus while at school, though at that time, Click said it was a classmate that had tested positive.
