LAKESIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is investigating what led to a shooting in Lakeside Monday evening. The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. near the off-ramp of State Route 67 and Winter Gardens Boulevard. Deputies and paramedics found the victim, a man in his 20s, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the hospital. The shooter fled the scene in a white Chevrolet Impala. A detailed description of the suspect wasn’t available. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Law enforcement officials Thursday were asking for the public's help in locating and identifying the suspect involved in two separate armed robberies this month. San Diego County Crime Stoppers was offering a reward of up to ,000 for information on the man, who's believed to have robbed a Game Stop in Serra Mesa on Dec. 19 and a Subway in Kearny Mesa four days later, according to the organization. The man is also believed to have been spotted at another Game Stop on the same day as the Subway robbery. Around 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 19, the suspect entered the Game Stop store on Murphy Canyon Road south of Aero Drive, where he lifted his shirt to display a silver revolver in his waistband and demanded money from the register, according to the Crime Stoppers news release. The clerk complied, and the man left the store on foot. Around 9:20 a.m. on Dec. 23, a man believed to be the same suspect entered the Game Stop on University Avenue east of 44th Street. An employee recognized the man from the earlier robbery and told another worker to call security. The suspect escaped from the store on foot.The same day, at about 11:20 a.m., it's believed that the same suspect entered a Subway restaurant near the intersection of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and Mercury Street. He ``simulated'' that he had a gun in his waistband and demanded money from the register. The clerk complied, and the man again escaped on foot. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his early 30s, about 5-feet-7-inches to 5-feet-9-inches tall and 180 to 200 pounds. In the first case, he was wearing a white construction hat, construction glasses, a dark-blue or black bandana on his head underneath the hat, black pants and black tennis shoes with white soles, Crime Stoppers said.During the second and third cases, the suspect was wearing an Anaheim Angels baseball cap, sunglasses, a dark-colored shirt, black pants and gray tennis shoes. Denney is flying out to San Diego, California, to accept her award on Monday, an honor she says she knew nothing about.“There are thousands of applicants, I didn't know I was nominated,” said Denney. “I became the 2019 unsung hero for the country so one person in the whole United States and it still just blows my mind that that's still a thing.”The award is for her lifesaving efforts that have made a difference in Taft.Out of thousands of nominees, Denney made the top 5 in February, and was awarded ,000. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car in Pacific Beach Monday afternoon. According to police, the crash happened near the intersection of Mission Bay Drive and Garnet Avenue at 1:18 p.m. Witnesses told police the silver BMW was traveling fast before hitting a 67-year-old pedestrian in a raised median along Mission Bay Drive. The car then continued into the busy intersection and hit a Ford Fusion before flipping over and coming to a stop in the Enterprise Rental lot. The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening head injuries, a broken pelvis and internal injuries. The 40-year-old driver of the BMW was uninjured and a woman in the Ford Fusion only had a complaint of pain. At this time, it's unclear whether or not drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. 865
