CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A heartbroken South Bay woman is making a desperate plea after three of her Maltese dogs disappeared in the past three weeks, and the clues point to a thief. These days, Yolanda Brown doesn't let Zubian, a year-and-a-half old Maltese, stray too far. Just three weeks ago, he was the youngest in a happy Maltese family of four. Now he's the only one left."Cried for days. It hurts. It hurts a lot," said Brown.The first tears came early this month. Brown rents a home on Del Mar Avenue and her four dogs were required to stay in her fenced backyard. One morning, 2-year-old Zoey vanished. "Checked all the gates and they were shut. Thought it may have been a predator," said Brown. A week later, Zoey's mom, 5-year-old Zivah, disappeared from the same yard."Just distraught, wondering what could have happened to them," said Brown.About 10 days later, Brown decided to keep Zubian and his 5-year-old dad Zeus tied up as a precaution. "One morning, as I came out, Zeus was gone and so was the leash. Zubian standing there by himself," said Brown.For Brown, it was too much to bear. Nearby, she found her fence damaged. A chair - moved from the pool area - was now propped up against the fence. She realized a thief had grabbed all of her dogs."Very cold-hearted people that would so something like that," said Brown.If sold, the stolen dogs could fetch several thousand dollars each. "They are priceless to me. They are members of my family," said Brown.Brown fixed up the fence and moved the chair back. When she walked us to that fence to show 10news cameras, she discovered the fence once again damaged. The chair had been moved back to the fence. "Someone was trying to come back and take my last dog. I'm scared," said Brown.Brown says Zubian has been moved to a safe place. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- The man accused of fatally stabbing a man during a road-rage dispute in the South Bay is due in court for pre-trial motions Monday. Rickey Smith, 60, is accused of stabbing 36-year-old Horace Williams to death as Williams sat in his van. According to police, the incident happened on November 27, 2018 along Sweetwater Road. Witnesses told police Smith was following Williams’ van as the two yelled at each other. RELATED: Man accused of killing driver in South Bay road rage incident pleads not guiltySmith’s pickup then reportedly hit the van from behind before Smith pulled in front of the van, slamming on the brakes. Witnesses told police the maneuver caused the crash. Police say Smith then got out of his truck and stabbed Williams. Smith, a father of five who had just dropped several of his children off at school, died at the scene. Christiane Amanpour will officially replace Charlie Rose on PBS stations across the country.The move was made official at the public broadcaster's annual meeting on Tuesday. It has been in the works for five months, ever since PBS stations began replaying Amanpour's CNN International program.Those half-hour Amanpour rebroadcasts were an interim replacement for Rose's 11 p.m. talk show, which was cancelled last November after women came forward to accuse him of sexual harassment and misconduct.Now Amanpour is expanding to an hour, like Rose's show used to be. The show will have a new name, "Amanpour & Company," and a stable of regular contributors. The changes will take effect in July."I'm delighted to expand my role at PBS from interim to permanent along with this remarkable diversity of voices and views," Amanpour said. "Never has the time for exploring our world and America's place in it been so urgent."Her statement also alluded to Rose's exit and the reason for it: "I am also thrilled to be a female filling this role at this time!"The expansion was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.Amanpour is CNN's chief international correspondent. Her weekday program "Amanpour" has been on CNN International since 2012. The expanded edition will continue to be shown on CNNI, which is primarily available outside the United States. (KGTV) — An upset truck owner is making a plea for tips after a man was recorded dousing his Toyota Tacoma with a destructive substance.On Falcon Peak Street in Otay Ranch, Marc Galvez stumbled upon a very odd sight when he went to his truck Monday night: A liquid he thought was a milkshake. "When I hosed it down, I could see the paint coming down. I knew it wasn't a milkshake. I got angry and pissed off," said Galvez.MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhoodA check of his Ring camera footage revealed the culprit. Just before 10 p.m., a man with "USA" written on the back of his shirt was recorded walking in the driveway, before walking away. A half hour later, the same man is back. With a bottle in his hand, he douses the truck with something, before walking off.  "I don't know that man. I've never seen him," said Galvez.RELATED: Escondido car vandalized with paint thinnerWhen Galvez looked over his truck, he found paint eaten away, everywhere. Police took a look and told him it was likely car paint thinner. Galvez is insured. He believes the repairs will total more than ,000. After viewing the report on 10News, another victim down the street walked outside to look at her truck. (KGTV) - Sweetwater Union High School District is trying to be proactive in the way it approaches teenage suicide.They'll hold an Open Forum to discuss the issue Thursday night, March 7, at Otay Ranch High School (1250 Olympic Parkway). The meeting starts at 6 pm."One life lost is one too many," says District Spokesperson Manny Rubio.According to the latest numbers from the San Diego County Suicide Prevention Council, suicides rose in 2017 after three years of holding steady. There were 458 deaths by suicide in 2017.The report also found that 14.5 percent of students had seriously considered suicide.Rubio says any time there is an incident with a Sweetwater student, they have crisis counselors and psychologists who go to campus. They also follow up with students in the ensuing months. But those are all reactive measures.To be more proactive, SUHSD officials asked students what issues they want to address concerning suicide. Among the responses were depression, social media pressure and bullying.The topics will be front and center of the public forum Thursday night."We want to make sure as we're going forward, that we're looking at what we can to better support our students," says Rubio. "This was one of the ideas. So let's talk about this in the open and let's talk about this publicly so that we can make sure that our students are feeling supported and feeling recognized."The event is open to the public. The district says students, parents, community members and anyone else from anywhere in San Diego County is welcome to attend and participate.San Diego County also offers a website, up2sd.org, to address the suicide crisis.
