LAS VEGAS – Bruce Williamson, the former lead singer of The Temptations, has died from the coronavirus.The 49-year-old died Sunday evening at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, according to his business manager.Williamson was with The Temptations for nearly 10 years.The Temptations sold tens of millions of albums with hits like "My Girl" and "Get Ready."Williamson left the group in 2015 to focus on soul and gospel music. He most recently performed as part of Sons of Soul, appearing at the House of Blues Gospel Brunch inside Mandalay Bay. LAKESIDE (CNS) - A neighbor helped a 76-year-old woman to safety from a house fire today, authorities said.At 10:31 a.m., San Diego County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to a residential structure fire in the 11400 block of Pinehurst Drive, according to Sgt. Greg Hampton.No other structures were threatened and the fire was extinguished shortly after deputies and fire personnel arrived, Hampton said.The woman suffered from minor burns and smoke inhalation and paramedics took her to UC San Diego Medical Center, the sergeant said.Sheriff's bomb and arson detectives responded to the scene to determine the cause of the fire. 644

(KGTV) — La Mesa is now accepting applications from residents to be a part of the city's Community Police Oversight Board.The city is looking for applicants for the newly-created 11-member panel that will provide recommendations to the Chief of Police, Mayor, City Council, and City Manager on La Mesa Police procedures and policies, as well as matters of public safety in the city.Applicants must be a resident of the city.
