In a Tuesday morning tweet, President Donald Trump pushed an unfounded conspiracy theory suggesting a 75-year-old protester in Buffalo who was pushed to the ground by police was an "ANTIFA provocateur."In the tweet, Trump claimed 75-year-old Martin Gugino, "was pushed away after appearing to scan police communications in order to black out the equipment."Trump claimed his information came from One America News Network, a conservative news channel known for its favorable coverage of the president. He did not provide a link or a video of the report.Gugino remains in serious but stable condition at Erie County Medical Center. Gugino was part of a group protesting outside of Buffalo's City on Thursday against police brutality in the wake of George Floyd's death. Video from the scene shows police in riot gear shove Gugino out of the way. When an officer offers help him up, another officer appeared to chastise him for doing so. 943

Hurricane Michael's death toll climbed to 18 Saturday, after another victim was discovered in Virginia.Fears were mounting for those who did not heed evacuation orders before Hurricane Michael bulldozed large swaths of Florida's Panhandle, and residents in the hardest-hit areas grew increasingly desperate for provisions.Three days after the monster storm, with rescue workers cutting through hulking debris piles in search of survivors, residents formed long lines outside fire stations, schools and Salvation Army food trucks to collect bottled water and ready-to-eat meals (MREs)."It's about to get stupid if people don't get food and water," Panama City Assistant Fire Chief Gary Swearingen said Saturday. Some have already resorted to looting, according to CNN affiliate WEAR-TV, because of the lack of resources such as water, electricity and food. 862

How about using your phone or computer to empower women? That's what one app and website are hoping you'll do when you dine out, for women's history month. From the hostess stand to the kitchen, there isn't a part of Racine's, an American-style food  restaurant in Denver, Lee Goodfriend doesn't know. That's because she owns it."It feels fantastic," Goodfriend says. "I love my restaurant I love being a woman entrepreneur."Goodfriend has seen things change drastically during her decades in the business."When I started out in the restaurant business in 1971 there were virtually no women in the restaurant business that owned the restaurants," Goodfriend says. "Except maybe with their husbands."Not anymore. And now all restaurants in the country that are owned or co-owned by a woman, or have kitchens run by a women are being highlighted in a new way. Grubhub partnered with Women Chefs &?Restaurateurs to launch RestaurantHER. You put in your zip code and it shows you all the women led businesses in your area."I highly recommend it," Goodfriend says.Goodfriend says it's not only good for people who want patronize women led restaurants, but be employed by them."If I were a young girl starting out I'd want to maybe work for a woman and see learn from her and then start my own restaurant," Goodfriend says.Still, only 20 percent of chefs in the US are women. Grubhub hopes the RestaurantHER initiative will raise awareness about gender equality in the industry.Goodfriend hopes it'll show other women what's possible."At my old age I like the idea of being a role model for other women so they can see that you can do it," Goodfriend says. "And that you can be in charge." 1705

Hundreds of thousands of dollars in coronavirus relief payments have been sent to people behind bars across the United States, and the IRS wants the money back. The federal tax agency is asking state officials to help claw back the cash it says was mistakenly sent. The legislation that authorized the payments during the pandemic doesn’t specifically exclude jail or prison inmates. An IRS spokesman says the agency is relying on the unrelated Social Security Act, which bans incarcerated people from receiving some types of benefit payments. Some groups say inmates need the money, especially if they've been recently released. 637
