BEIJING, June 22 (Xinhua) -- A senior Chinese military leader has called for accelerated innovation and development of the country's national defense technology.
He added that the situation of China's stock market was discussed during his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, while Xi took a rather calm attitude toward the issue.
"China has made strides in decreasing hunger and has used its own experience to support other countries in doing the same," FAO Director-General Jose Graziano da Silva said during a signing ceremony on the sidelines of the FAO's 39th Conference between June 6 and 13.
He also called for strengthened supervision to push forward the implementation.
Lawmakers also mulled a law concerning the security of China's activities and assets in space, on the international sea bed and in polar regions, to further improve the legal framework protecting national security.
