BEIJING, April 10 (Xinhua) -- China will continue to propel its ongoing reform on torpid state-owned enterprises (SOE) this year as part of the efforts to restructure the economy, according to a recent government meeting.
The two countries should fully tap their cooperation potential and expand cooperation in such areas as agriculture, infrastructure construction, finance, energy, mining industry and telecommunications, the Chinese president said.
China-Japan relations have soured since the Japanese government's "purchase" of the Diaoyu Islands in September 2012. Territorial disputes, along with historical issues, as Japanese right-wing forces attempt to whitewash its militarism in World War II, have hindered the development of bilateral ties.
China persists in building good-neighborly relationships and partnerships with its neighbors and in solving disputes through dialogue and negotiation, he said.
The four documents refer to the China-Japan Joint Statement inked in 1972, the China-Japan Treaty of Peace and Friendship of 1978, the China-Japan Joint Declaration of 1998, and the joint statement on advancing strategic and mutually-beneficial relations in a comprehensive way signed in 2008.
