DETROIT (AP) — The U.S. government’s road safety agency is investigating complaints that front suspensions can fail on nearly 115,000 Tesla electric vehicles.The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says it has 43 complaints that linkages near the ball joints can fail, allowing contact between the tire and wheel liner.The probe announced Friday covers 2015 through 2017 Model S sedans and 2016 through 2017 Model X SUVs.The agency says 32 owners complained of failures at low speeds, but 11 said the links failed on roads while traveling above 10 mph, including four at highway speeds.The probe could lead to a recall. Del Mar, Calif. (KGTV)- California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a series of gun bills into law Friday, including a bill that will prohibit gun and ammunition shows at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The bill was authored by State Assemblymember Todd Gloria (D-78)."People have the right to continue to buy guns at private establishments. The state just shouldn't have a role in facilitating the flow of guns into neighborhoods where children are killed," Gloria told 10News in an interview shortly after returning from the bill signing in Sacramento.Gloria was inspired to act by anti-gun violence advocates who began protesting the Crossroads of the West Gun Show, held five times each year at the Fairgounds. Groups such as "Never Again CA" began the protests shortly after the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida.Crossroads President Tracy Olcott told 10News the company plans to sue the stop the law from taking effect. "Gun shows are not the place where gun violence is created. We're the ones who are educating about gun safety and I think when you have an environment where you can talk about it and educate people, I think that's an important part of curbing gun violence."The next gun show will be held in December. DEL MAR (CNS) - A 4-year-old gelding died today during training at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, the second horse lost during the 81st summer meet.Irreproachable suffered an unspecified injury this morning during a workout, according to Del Mar track spokesman Mac McBride. Irreproachable had raced twice, once at Santa Anita in May and once at Del Mar last month, McBride said.The other fatality involved Lovely Lilia, a 3-year-old filly that suffered a fatal injury during a morning workout on July 11, and was later euthanized.McBride said Del Mar has not lost any horses during racing for the past two summer meets.While there were no racing deaths, four training deaths were recorded last summer, while the subsequent fall meeting saw three racing deaths and two in training.McBride noted that in both 2018 and 2019, the Jockey Club's Equine Injury Database recognized Del Mar as the safest major track in the United States.``We hope to continue in that role this year,'' he said.
