BONITA (CNS) - A man and a woman in their 80s were found dead inside their Bonita home by a relative checking on their welfare, authorities said Friday.San Diego County sheriff's deputies responded at 2:56 p.m. Thursday to the residence in the 5500 block of Pray Street, Lt. Michael Blevins said.The relative had stopped to check on them because they had not heard from the couple in days, Blevins said."Both had traumatic injuries," he said.Sheriff's homicide detectives were investigating, Blevins said. BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) — The FBI is investigating after a piece of rope resembling a noose was found in a Black firefighter's locker in the Minneapolis suburb of Bloomington. An FBI spokesman confirmed Saturday the bureau is investigating and said that the case is in its initial stages. Bloomington officials had asked the FBI to investigate. Officials say that the rope was tied into what appears to be a crude noose and was discovered at a Bloomington fire station on June 15. (KGTV) -- San Diego County Fire-Rescue announced Saturday that it sent firefighters from the department to help battle the Apple Fire burning in Riverside County.According to the agency, crews left early Saturday morning to join the fight against the blaze.Strike team deployments usually last 14 days, but can be reduced or last longer, depending on the incident, the department said.“California has a very strong mutual aid system and it kicks into gear for wildfires to support fire agencies in our state and others,” the agency added.The North County Fire Protection District said later in the day it sent two units to battle the blaze. The Poway Firefighters Association also said it sent crews to assist with the Apple Fire. As of Sunday morning, the fire had scorched 15,000 acres and was 0% contained, according to KABC.
