SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in East Village Wednesday night. According to San Diego Police, the stabbing happened on the 1500 block of Commercial just after 5 p.m. Police say a 26-year-old man was involved in a fist fight with the suspect when, during the fight, the suspect stabbed the victim in the ribs. The 26-year-old was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene and hasn’t been located, police say. He is described as a 35-year-old black man approximately five feet, seven inches tall and clean shaven. The fire on South Mountain near Santa Paula erupted Thursday evening and quickly grew to over 6 square miles, or 4,000 acres. Ventura County fire officials say it's threatening the unincorporated community of Somis, which has about 3,000 residents. Evacuations have been called for a few nearby streets in the hilly area, where gusts are fanning the flames even as the winds ease in other areas of Southern California.
