ALPINE, Calif. (KGTV) -- A semi-truck hauling frozen chicken veered off Interstate 8 and overturned, scattering boxes of the poultry product onto the ground.The crash happened at around 5 a.m. Thursday off westbound Interstate near East Victoria Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.The cause of the crash is unclear, but witnesses and the CHP said the truck flipped onto its side and came dangerously close to a fence of a nearby home.Some witnesses said they saw the truck’s driver staggering in the lanes just after the wreck. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, ABC 10News learned.A tow truck was summoned to the scene to help remove the big rig.No other injuries were reported. 729

Allergan has recalled almost 170,000 sample packs of birth control pills because of a packaging error that could put consumers at risk for unintended pregnancy.According to the recall, four placebo capsules were placed out of order in a sample pack of Taytulla and the first four days of therapy had four non-hormonal placebo capsules instead of active capsules."As a result of this packaging error, oral contraceptive capsules, that are taken out of sequence, may place the user at risk for contraceptive failure and unintended pregnancy," The recall states. "The reversing of the order may not be apparent to either new users or previous users of the product, increasing the likelihood of taking the capsules out of order."Allergan says they are notifying customers by recall letter and is arranging for return of all recalled sample pack product with the lot #5620706 Exp. May 2019. A woman in southern Alberta is thankful she didn't swallow what was in a cup she was served at McDonald's as the woman was served a cleaning solution instead of a latte, the CBC reported. Sarah Douglas, who is due with her third child in two months, said all it took was a small sip to realize what she had was not a latte. "I immediately had to put my hazard lights on and pull over and spit it out and rinse my mouth out with ... water," Douglas told the CBC. "I opened up the lid of the coffee and out pours this pungent smell of chemical. It wasn't a latte at all."Douglas returned to the McDonald's location and the manager discovered that a cleaning solution was hooked up to the restaurant's coffee machine. "The supervisor went and got the bottle that was hooked up to it and brought it over to the counter, and I took a picture of it, so I knew what I was working with — what I had consumed so I could talk to 811 and poison control," Douglas told the CBC.  999
