TAMPA, Fla. — An employee at a Chinese Restaurant in Tampa has been arrested after deputies say he stabbed three other employee's with a butcher knife while at work on Monday.According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Xiaofu Feng, 44 was working in the kitchen of the Peking Chinese Restaurant alongside chef Qing Zheng on Monday afternoon. Around 2:35 p.m., deputies say that Feng became upset and accused Qing of taking his cell phone. That's when deputies say he grabbed a 12-inch butcher knife and cut Qing several times across the left side of his neck, causing deep lacerations, but narrowly missing the artery. The victim attempted to warn others nearby who were working in another area of the kitchen, according to an arrest report. Feng then attacked a second employee, Qi Zheng, with the butcher knife and caused multiple lacerations to the left side of her neck, shoulder, and lower arm.Shi Zheng, the store owner and Qi Zheng's father, walked in and saw what was happening from the rear of the store. Deputies say he attempted to protect his daughter and others from further harm. Feng allegedly attacked Shi with the butcher knife and cut him across the right side of his face. Shi continued his efforts to stop Feng, who had now armed himself with a second knife. Despite his injuries, he was able to disarm Feng of the second knife and hold him until deputies arrived.Deputies say that all three victims were transported to Tampa General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Tesla says Tuesday it wants to raise up to billion in capital through a stock offering. The move came the same day that CEO Elon Musk said he has moved from California to Texas. The stock offering is the second for the company in three months. In September Tesla said that it planned to sell up to billion worth of common shares just one day after its 5-for-1 stock split took effect.According to the Associated Press, 10 different brokerage houses will sell the stock offerings, and each will get up to a 0.25% commission. Musk told The Wall Street Journal in an interview that he has switched states, saying that California is complacent with innovators and has taken them for granted.According to the AP, earlier this year, Musk threatened to relocate Tesla’s Palo Alto, California, headquarters and future manufacturing to Texas over a spate with county officials on whether Tesla’s San Francisco Bay Area factory should stay closed due to coronavirus restrictions.Next year, Tesla is scheduled to roll out its new “Cybertruck” pickup and a semi. 1064
TAMPA, Fla. -- A Tampa man is speaking to national supermarket chains after inventing a device to sanitize shopping carts.Adam Labadie created a product known as "The Arch Cart Sanitizer." The device sanitizes shopping carts in a few seconds. It uses an organic, EPA, FDA approved solution to kill COVID-19. "We ship a dry package to the store. We don't ship liquid across the country," he said.Studies show shopping cart handles have bacteria on them. It is one of the most commonly touched items in a store."Customers now are expecting a clean cart. They expect a clean store and a clean cart," said Labadie. Labadie said he first noticed a trash can full of used wipes at a local grocery store. He also saw a lot of trash while snorkeling and diving in Florida."I went and I looked at the trash can. It was a full trash can full of wipes," he said."I wanted to find another solution," he added.Labadie said his invention could help eliminate the use of wipes at grocery stores. He hopes to start production in the next few weeks."We'll be sending out free demos, free demos to grocers...some in the Northeast and some in the South in about 3 weeks so it's super exciting for me. It means I get to showcase my baby," said Labadie. The father of two was laid off at the start of the pandemic. He began working on his invention. He said he spends 15 hours working in the garage or on his computer."Failure is always part of life and you just try to challenge yourself, figure out the next thing," he said."November, December, hopefully, we'll start seeing it in some stores," Labadie added. This story was first reported by Julie Salomone at WFTS in Tampa, Florida. 1729
Synthetic weed tainted with rat poison has made its way to Milwaukee and it’s been linked to at least three illnesses in the city in 24 hours. Dr. Jon Meiman with the state health department says the effects of the fake drug can be “unpredictable,” with side effects ranging from nausea to seizures and even death. "The synthetic cannabinoids that we're seeing here are causing severe bleeding, and that's very unusual,” Meiman said. The synthetic pot can be found at gas stations and other convenience stores sold under names like K2 or Spice. The drug is meant to minim the effects of marijuana but can be far more dangerous. "They work on the same parts of the brain that marijuana does, but they can have very different effects depending on the specific chemicals," Meiman said. The health department says it’s sent two people to the hospital in Milwaukee. In nearby Chicago, the poison-laced product is linked to three deaths. Health officials are trying to trace the source of the rat poison-synthetic pot. 1061
