LOS ANGELES (KGTV) -- A 5.3 magnitude earthquake shook the Los Angeles area Thursday afternoon. According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake struck about 35 miles southwest of Channel Island Beach. At this time there are no reports of damage or injuries. The National Weather Service added that there is no risk for tsunami. Shortly after the quake, the Los Angeles Fire Department went into earthquake mode. According to the department, during earthquake mode, firefighters from all 106 neighborhood fire stations survey all 470 square miles in the greater Los Angeles area. The department says crews are now inspecting dams, power-lines and large places such as Dodger Stadium to ensure public safety.  772

Kent Wegener says no bullets were recovered from the scene and detectives saw "no visible injuries." He says Reinosa eventually admitted making up the story and using a knife to cut the two holes in his shirt.Reinosa has been relieved of his duties and will face a criminal investigation. She had just returned from spending several years sailing across the Pacific with her husband.Fiedler, a Michigan native, was a hairdresser and photographer who thought of herself as "part fish" because of her ocean addiction.The other three victims identified Tuesday were on the boat with coworkers and loved ones.Sison's husband, Michael Quitasol, and her three stepdaughters also perished in the fire. LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A third Los Angeles police officer has tested positive for the coronavirus and was exhibiting symptoms inside the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Division station for several days this week, according to the department.The officer, who had recently returned from a vacation out of the country, was "coughing and sweating" during roll call in Central Division, which patrols areas that include downtown L.A., two of the officials said.Despite protests from several officers in the station, the affected officer was allowed to work for at least two days this week, according to the Los Angeles Times.The officer was tested for the virus, and a positive result came back Saturday, according to three law enforcement officials. Additional officers who worked with the afflicted patrol officer were expected to be quarantined, officials said.Saturday night, the LAPD reported that it had disinfected all of the officer's work spaces and common areas inside Central Division."We have also identified anyone who may have come into contact with the employee and directed them to contact their healthcare provider for evaluation," the LAPD reported.The department said it also established guidelines for all employees who either exhibit symptoms of the virus or cone in contact with someone who may be infected.
