SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police have identified the man shot and killed in Encanto Wednesday night as 24-year-old Gai Wal.Police were called to the 6100 block of Imperial Avenue just before 6 p.m. on December 23 after receiving reports of shots fired.When they arrived, officers found Wal in the parking lot of a nearby business with an apparent gunshot wound to his upper torso.RELATED: San Diego police: Man shot in Encanto neighborhoodWal was taken to the hospital in critical condition. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County is suspending enforcement of restaurant closures following a Wednesday court ruling.Superior Court Judge Joel R. Wohlfeil issued an injunction prohibiting a cease-and-desist order from being enforced on strip clubs and "San Diego County businesses with restaurant service.” At a hearing on Thursday, Wohlfeil said his ruling encompasses all restaurants, not just strip clubs.In November, the county fell into the state’s purple tier, forcing eateries to cease indoor operations. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diegans should get their flu shots before the flu season typically starts, county health officials said Wednesday.Most flu cases are reported between the end of October and April or May, according to the County Health and Human Services Agency.It takes about two weeks after receiving the flu shot to develop immunity to the virus, said officials.“People should get vaccinated before the worst of the flu season gets here,” said Wilma Wooten, M.D., M.P.H., County public health officer. “The vaccine is safe and effective and is available across the region.”342 people in San Diego County died of the virus during the last flu season, officials said. Most of the deaths were among those over 65, with underlying medical conditions.
